As the title suggests, I know it’s wishful thinking. In this modern era of gaming we see a lot of “crossover events” and i’d like to know what everyone’s opinion of those are. For me personally so long as it makes sense in the universe I don’t see anything wrong with it. Only when it seems out of place is it weird to me.
People joke and call EVE a “spreadsheet simulator” but I’ve been playing a game since 06 that is basically literally a spreadsheet simulator and it’s based around spaceships and planets.
Ogame is a browser based game and it basically has all the same ship types as EVE already (ei Battleship, Destroyer, Cruiser, bomber, etc etc). These ships all have pictures made for them and the devs even have a few videos for these ships in small interactions (fleets attacking each other). It wouldn’t be hard to work with the devs I’m sure and come up with 3-d models for these ships in EVE for a short “Crossover Event”. All ships acquired during the event would be a limited bpc that could only be acquired during the event.
I do however think it’s a lot of work to make 3D ships out of that concept art at a level that’s acceptable for EVE, too much work for a temporary crossover event.
It’s easier to have a crossover event in Ogame itself with an EVE-themed reskin of the pictures and UI. They still have reskins right? It’s been decades since I played.
Everything is streamlined. If that was possible back in the day I never bothered with trying. I only ever just played the game. A friend from school and his brother got me into it.
If you want an EVE crossover, go play Star Citizen. Half of their ships are based on EVE ships and Elite Dangerous. A couple of them are even 1:1 exact copies…
Neither is active anymore as far as I know since at least a decade if not more, the first one no longer exists at all.
Anyway instead of bringing Ogame ships into EVE why not make a crossover with EVE art added to Ogame? Or have a server / world or whatever dedicated to be EVE themed for a season or if there is interest then permanently?
It is much easier and less effort to render images from EVE and add them to Ogame than the other way around.
