Wondering how many "mega multis" will be heading to Exordium to avoid ganks

Or new players…

@Arthur_Aihaken and @Christine_Creed I came back with popcorn for everyone. Did I miss anything? Did someone give a mayan ass calender date of eve dying because we now have a newbie safe space?

I laid it out for you, as to why, in several paragraphs.

But yeah you don’t care, not even to read, so why spend the time typing here to begin with ?

Yeah, the official Ultima Online survived.

In what state is it in now though ?

This.

Who even forwarded the idea for Exordium to begin with ?

They could’ve just expanded the new player tutorial and include challenges related to ganking as a viable threat/challenge to be aware of in systems below 0.8 sec status …

Just give us an EVE Classic server where we can shank each other to our hearts content, while everyone else can continue playing the space version of Farmville…

Make two servers: one PvP as is, one PvE with adjusted NPC’s and pve content. See which one has brought in the most revenue in 6 months time. Bet they could get away with a virtual server for the small amount of actual PvP’ers in the game.

Might as well make it a single player game at that point. You’d still have players whining about getting nuked by NPCs…

Not to mention it would turn into even more of a farming bot fest with no fear of getting killed by other players.

And all of that was moot. You know it was. What’s the REAL reason you care?

I care because as previously stated:

Meaning:

I care for Eve to retain its original open-ended gameplay and its co-dependant nature bewteen PvE and PvP demographics (new players included and without seperated “safezones”).

Why ? Because without this, Eve is no longer Eve.

ie: Everyone vs Everyone (EvE)

Is that concise enough for you ?

But i can mine safely AFK forever in a 0.8 and above system now. You claim to want Eve to be dangerous because you care about this game yet you have never once PvPed in any upper security system. Your kill board shows you pvping in high sec, but only 0.6 and 0.5

You care so much about Eve’s PvP zones that you stay far away from anyone in a 0.7 and above system thus protecting their safety.

This does not affect you. This doesn’t affect you at all. Nothing is being taken away from you. You can still pvp in low sec like you always do.

If I want to, I can take a mining ship right now to 1.0, set it to mine, and walk away. I can return every few minutes to pick new mining targets. I can keep that up all day every day and not get attacked. That won’t change with this.

I wont do that though. It’s boring. I like where I mine now. It’s heavily ganked, 0.5, has ice, and friendly people. It’s way more fun.

But that doesn’t mean that I can’t mine afk in 1.0 and be totally safe. I can. It’s simply boring.

It’s gonna suck - and that’s the whole point.

False.

I used to hunt wartargets in all of highsec 0.5 - 1.0 back in my merc days.

Go back to my early 2010s years on that killboard.

Alas, when CCP changed the wardec rules, because caving in to a very vocal crybaby lot at the time … This activity effectively died down, and became a stale station/hub camping game.

You can still effectively hunt and engange in ship to ship pvp in 0.7 and above: ie: stealing stuff, suspects flags (baiting someone into suspect inside missions is still a thing), killrights, criminals, Pirate HS corruption, wartargets (albeit less as per mentioned above), etc …

So no, nowhere is effectively 100% safe in the open world of Eve, even in 1.0.

It does affect me as its a turning-point for the game, splitting the openworld demographics inside the game from the getgo.

Before, newbies would simply be thrown out in the open and encouraged to join a corp and be under the wing of more experienced pilots.

I joined Eve University corporation when I started this game, and this was the best LIVE introductory experience into the game I could ever hope for, no handholding, no kiddynannying inside a 100% BS safezone, just me and the resources given to me, my brain and ambition for a challenge.

Name that 1.0 system you go mine in and Im sure @Aiko_Danuja will have a way with you soon enough.

You underestimate the power of Alpha striking on/with certain ships. It certainly wont be cost efficient but just to make the point that 100% safety in Eve, is a fallacy, except when inside a station…

Then, why waste company resources to make it ?

An AFK miner does not go suspect and cannot be baited. He is AFK so he does not jetcan nor does an Industrial command ship need to. Miners don’t typically have kill rights and aren’t usually criminals. There’s no need for any HS miner to be a war target since holding companies are the “In thing to do” right now. It’s very fashionable.

Aiko lives in the same system as I do. All she has to do is look at local and she can see when I log on. I did say that it’s a heavily ganked system didn’t I? That’s why I mine there. It’s more exciting. I looked at the Zkillboard of that system and said, “That’s my new home!”

See this way, people can’t accuse me of running, hiding, or being cowardly. I sought her out and I mine Ice and ore there whenever I’m on. If Aiko is going to blow up my ships, then she’s going to blow up my ships. But I’ll continue to mine there.

You do know that 1.0 completely prevents turning safety to yellow even right? Forced green for everyone, the only thing other players can do is bump.

At least it’s not going into Vanguard or Frontier…

Hey, leave me out of this. :stuck_out_tongue:

You are talking like a politician. “Nothing really gets taken away from you - you will keep your savings in the bank - we will just adjust interests a bit”

I am sure as a bitter vet you will get your “benefit” from it soon enough. It will have direct impact on inflation and devalue your hard earned savings.
