Yield comparison of the new mining ships

It already is. There is tons of low-level content that basically anyone with two brain cells can take on.

What is missing is high-end content in all spaces that allows individuals or groups to specialize in, requiring high skill (not SP), a lot of experience and a lot of knowledge to do it.

Multiboxing itself isn’t a problem and can persist, it just shouldn’t be the way to approach the high-end content. It should be limited to be an income-booster for low- to medium-skill content. All end-content of any profession should be so complex and demanding, that it is hardly doable on more than one or two chars at the same time. Because that allows high-skilled players to outperform relaxed multiboxers, which is good in a competitive online game.

Why not?

Alpha miners will see a lot of benefit from swapping their Venture for a Pioneer (assuming the Pioneer is Alpha-friendly) as it gives them 35% more ore yield.

Even Omega miners who don’t necessarily need the cloaks of the expedition frigates but would like an agile mining ship with higher yield to rush to the upcoming new mining sites across the universe will also benefit from the mining destroyers.

Why not?

It’s active mining of valuable ore, with a silent period of safer mining and eventually possible PvP encounters as well for more content in the game.

Sounds good to me?

High-APM, skill-based gameplay? That’s exactly what multiboxing is

Have a nice day

The problem of multiboxing is that it requires multiple accounts.

A player is then more playing their PC’s windows alt-tabbing between different ships (or using a tool like EVEO) than immersively playing the game.

Multiboxing may be ‘high APM’ but it’s the kind of minmaxing that minmaxes the fun out of the game.

So the desire is that multiboxing goes from optional min-maxing high APM for those that desire it, to high APM being mandatory for everyone even non-multboxers?

My desire is that low-APM activities like mining get an optional high-APM version so that non-multiboxers can also increase their yield while multiboxers can benefit from the lower low-APM yield by scaling up their APM through multiboxing rather than gameplay mechanics.

It makes both multiboxing and APM optional, but gives single account players a better high-APM yield version that currently does not exist.

Wtf has that video even to do with massmultiboxfarming? Its about someone who does PvP with multiple accounts.

It seems to me that you are constantly moving goalposts here to make a point and you aren’t even bringing a single argument.

Massmultibox farming is NOT “high APM, high Skill gameplay”. As you can witness with any multiboxed mining fleet. The highest difficulty there is to not fall asleep before your mining hold is full, so you compress in time before the lasers shut off. That is BAD game design and shouldn’t be the way “high end gameplay” for a mining career is like. A single miner with high skill should have content available where he can outperform others that just multibox the less demanding content. And currently such an option for mining doesn’t exist.

Same goes for massmultibox ratting btw.. I am not talking about a 3-account DreadSetup, but people farming HighClass holes with a dozen or more Eos/Rattles/Nestors etc…

And now we just have to wait till the freshly created posting alt outs himself.

Multiboxing will thrive as long as ISK buys Omega.

And the whining will thrive until the carebears get Billions of ISK in a single click with zero risk or effort.

On second thought, not even that will stop the whining, because they’ll whine about people doing it on multiple accounts.

Improve the game for real players—don’t waste time punishing multiboxers and bots.

Those things are not mutually exclusive. CCP could hit two birds with one stone.

Nope.

Yep.

Punishing multiboxing and botting miners means single-account miners get paid far better for their ore, improving the game for real players.

How are you going to punish multiboxers and bots more than a regular player?

There are various ways to do that, but the most friendly way is for example to create optional high-APM/high-attention gameplay for miners that rewards players who pay attention with additional yield.

AFK players and multiboxers likely won’t have the attention to make use of such gameplay, so it’s a yield boost specifically for regular players.

Increasing the minimum required APM is also annoying for regular players and it doesn’t deter multiboxers or bots—One person farming and defending a C6 proves it.

That’s why I said ‘optional’ rather than ‘minimum required’ APM.

Keeps the current gameplay intact yet adds a way for players to increase yield through attention and action rather than multiboxing.

High-APM content does not deter multiboxing and botting
