"What is the HELIOS weapon?

The High Energy Laser and Integrated Optical Dazzler and Surveillance (HELIOS) is a weapon system developed by Lockheed Martin capable of engaging targets at the speed of light. The system can destroy drones, watercraft and missiles by either melting or overheating them. The weapon not only can use a high-energy laser to destroy targets, but is designed to disrupt intelligence-gathering efforts and reconnaissance sensors from adversaries."

The 20 tractor trailers full of generators along with the 12 tanker trucks to fuel them make this weapon less than ideal on an actual battlefield.

weapon choice on EVE is the difference bet. life and death. high tech weaponry on EVE is the difference between testosterone and estrogen.

the ‘real’ world is now discovering ‘THIS’.

The Russians will counter it by gluing a $2 mirror onto their rockets, as usual. Thats called “balance of power”.

Strictly speaking it doesn’t. Radar, processing to identify nature of target ( don’t want to shoot down friendlies ), and tracking all need to occur. Fast…but not speed of light.
