This is about the pop up window that comes on the log in screen, when your Omega on an account has expired and when you select a character to log in.
This post is not part of the “CCP did a couple things right” idea, just wanted to be sure people didnt think the Your Account Is Now Alpha Warning 1 post is about this one.
This is pure ■■■■.
It alerts you about things you already know, so nothing, it has no purpose at all (for the user).
It aborts your issued command, getting in your way.
It is misleading, only presenting 2 buy omega options, no Play As Alpha option, misleading new players to think they have to pay to play now.
It requires poor GUI knowledge / bad habits. To actually get rid of it, has to use the window kill command (X in upper corner - this is even rather hidden in colour / layout to mislead). Not an option you should ever use on a Window that takes inputs, as you do not provide the required input. Now this is just a spam window, so there is no required input, but if it was a sensible made window, it would have intercepted your command because vital information is needed, and getting in the habit of just killing windows requesting vital information is bad.
