You can petition anything if you want. You can get caught by 100 stealth bombers with your ratting super and petition your loss.
The problem here is that the thing you call lag, is a part of the game. Eve is based around 1 second increments. You cannot petition and expect to win, when you failed to catch a travel-ceptor because the server tick let him escape. We’ve known about this, and we accepted this as part of the game.
To be fair he did say he will quit if this wasn’t fixed, and we all know this is legitimate game mechanics.
If someone says they want to leave, it’s their life. We wont stop them. EVE is a harsh and careless mistress. Not everyone can satisfy her voracious appetite for passionate PvP.
Trade window scams based on game lag were retarded, it literally just made everyone have to use contracts instead unless they were completely ignorant of the mechanics or stupid. At least with the new system you have to be a complete idiot to be scammed now, the way the game should be.
The only other legit thing i can think of that would benefit OP, is if he was actually convinced into spending that much money to dump into the game to buy that particular ship to trade it…
