i am in the UK. I had the conenction error but managed to get in. Once in I get messages saying I cannot connect to the chat server do i want to retry, i said yes, it kepts coming back. I chose no in the ned, i am in WH space anyway so shrug
Still dead on east coast USA. I’ve been able to login infrequently over the last week, but lag has made things unplayable whenever that’s happened.

This should properly be called Lack of Communications Threads. since all we get are applogetic hand washins and hey do this! which the Players figured out to do…get real CCP what is the game’s problem???

CCP historically has always waited until an event is over and then issued some form of comp.
In the past they have given 1M SP or something to that effect.
I’m not too worried about it. I’m sure they will do something.
As Copper pointed out, they have given out Skillpoints for situations like this before. Heavy disruption and what not.
Honestly, Skillpoints are kind of paltry compared to not being able to log in and play. While 1 Million Skillpoints is certainly nothing to sneeze at, I’m still training skills. What I can’t do is earn ISK or play with my Corp / Alliance, put myself out there and make myself known that I care about our space and am willing to defend / expand it.
Time is extremely valuable, and a situation like this, Skill points just do not seem enough.

The main reason why Skillpoints seems so little for this situation, is that by all accounts this is a targeted area that if you want to get around it you either need to 1) Pay a third party to allow you to access a game in which you have already paid to access or 2) Go with one of the ‘free’ VPN providers out there and risk damage to your own hardware which will further limit your ability to play.
While VPN’s are a rather special case, disputed much on these forums as to whether they are alright to use, An offense capable of having you Banned or any other actions taken against you for simply wanting to play a game you have every right to play, as a Customer to CCP. There seems to me a number of other situations you leave yourself open to with that sort of approach.
With all this taken in to consideration… Skill points do not even come close to starting to make players whole that have been affected by this.

Connection issues persist. The trick shown at the original post is no longer viable since it does not simply accept our connection attempts.
Very much this indeed. Any amount of SP isn’t going to do anything to make up for a week of Omega time wasted while being unable to earn ISK.

A whole month seems excessive. I’d be happy with a few days reimbursed to those who’ve had an Omega account during this whole mess.
