Yeah, just started seeing this, new for me. At least before I could get to the “connect” screen.
I just started using NordVPN, and I am in the game now. I better not get banned.

Seems most people would rather waste time posting complaints than search for a way to resolve the issues.
Launcher / Log-in issue - click the ‘E’ icon (top right corner of Launcher) and select ‘Shared Cache’ in the drop-down menu, then select ‘Verify integrity of all downloaded files’ which will remove extra files, after that’s completed select ‘Refresh’ in the same ‘E’ icon drop-down menu.
In-game chat issues - just open the port in your firewall that CCP is requesting.

LOL - doesn’t work already tried - nice try.
This is the first time in my five years of playing Eve that I’ve experienced something like this; that people are threatening to jump ship because of it is pretty silly. That being said, it doesn’t take a week to repair a technical issue like this, no matter what someone tells you. I’ve worked with a lot of NOC guys over the years and unless the data center caught fire, this delay likely involves a bit more than just issues stemming from a DDoS attack. Please be patient while they sort it out.

Posting that does noting. If you think that there was a solution to this idiotic issue that we would have found it by now? And if you think the solution is still client side then you need to reevaluate your intelligence.

Has nothing to do with firewalls.
My situation is this.
2 computers, different OSs, neither connect to game.
Connecting with VPN, depending on region, either it connects or it doesn’t
for those that do connect, some have a working chat, others don’t.
I’m not changing setting on my router, firewall or VPN client. the area I’m connecting from seem to impact how I’m able to connect to the game. These are routing issues CCP is having with their providers, these are not issues with individual client systems or firewalls. To think otherwise is to not understand how networking works.
Maybe check your own intelligence first since you specifically responded to the chat issue.
According to that my port 5222 is open - and yet I magically cant get chat???
I really don’t care what you think, he replied about the chat issue so I posted CCP’s statement from their official support site.
I responded to a chat issue because I have this issue, and im tired of google kittens saying oh if you all were actually trying then you would know how to fix an issue that is not client side. Lets be honest here who needs an evaluation.
And we all know how helpful CCP has been in the last 7 days.
I love chess. My older brother got me hooked on chess and risk when I was 5. He used me basically for target practice but I still love the games!

EVE is a lot like chess. If you cant face the fact that there better players out there than you, then this probably isn’t the game for you.

You will never get good at PVP if your afraid to try. Those who do try and try again “usually” get better!
