not sure about your first question because tbh i haven’t really looked at them properly yet, but the alpha’s can use the rad sinks because there’s no special skill requirements for it
Why is one capital part more in size in m3 than the large (not XL) Citidel repackaged.

My fingers, toes, and eyes are all crossed hoping that we don’t get 2 more hours of restarts for the patch to stick. Please let it run smoothly, my eyes will get tired if I have to keep them crossed for the 2 extra hours.
Surely this is the kind of thing that should be on the News section of the Launcher.

I’ve been putting off getting back into Eve for years but the day I decide to play they have a 4 hour long maintenance. lol

They did put it on the launcher.
Cmon man is not important to alert ppl about extended downtime but send IGM notification to vote for CSM

There are updates pinned on the second post of the thread, last one was about 10 mins, it’s not too bad for letting us know what’s going on
First person to have a valid reason to be surprised about this… There were warnings on the launcher and it’s been discussed for months.

On a guess as a 30 year IT guy myself, I’m going to suggest that this was to keep the existing database intact and in place on so that they could fail over to it if the conversion goes badly, rather than restore all that data.
Having done quite a few database cleanups over time, I’m going to guess that there is a lot of redundant keys that get tossed with the conversion, which is why they might be better served passing the relevant information to a new DB structure rather than try to convert/repair the existing one in place.
My guess anyway.

They did mention it a while back, but I do agree they should of had a REMINDER on the launcher!
I really hope they don’t use the word “Successfully” launched after this cause we know we will have down times all week, I hope not but we know CCP’s record. 
BTW, it might be wise and prudent NOT to go flying into the Abyss right away after TQ comes back y’all. Chances are there may need to be an emergency reboot or two with a patch like this.

I wonder how many fleets are already preparing to go out to try and destroy a faction citadel. Would think quite a few.
Hope we get some free Stuff, i mean we pay for time and they lost our time.
Scroll one down and read the news articles for outpost phase out… cleary something that says ‘deployment details’ is going to include details of server down times!
