Had issue logging in as well (central USA) It got weird, even firing up the Launcher, Got A big windowless CCP symbol overlay, which did nothing till i clicked it, then the launcher popped up.
Login failed (launcher did not indicate downloads - but my Window Icon in task bar showed downloads, so waited for that to quit and restarted.
Worked fine that time, but then I got a “Could not connect - check internet connection” error and the EVE.exe screen. Logging in from there worked.
Now have client screen, but keep getting Chat Error “Could not connect to chat server at live.chat. eveonline. com:5222. Please ensure that this port isn’t blocked. Retry?”
connectivity is actually worse right now for me (Great Lakes area) than it was this morning.
Currently quite frequently hanging or slow to Authenticate.

Most of the time it is enough to insist a little and I can log-in.
If I am connected from my region, Chat does not connect.

26 HOURS LATER…
Well, it still is not working. It has gotten “closer”, but I still can’t log in.
-It verifies my account and password.
-It allows me to “click the play” symbol next to my game name.
-Then it loads up an oldschool-looking screen which says:
“Version: 18.01.1656851”

I have filed both Petition (#1080944) and Bug Report (EBR-189862).
This time yesterday, I got hit with major lag and couldn’t log in after being dropped from game. Now I got a message saying I couldn’t connect to the server but restarted and got to log on. Something still not right as game seemed a little laggy. Please feed the hamster.
