Some people I’ve read in the crawls seem to know plenty about security et all. They seem to work in the field. Running checks and the like. Searching and sifting through data. I would love to be able to comprehend just what they are saying. But alas no. Always a noob and always behind. The gist of it is that some key folks left from a certain entity and now that entity is having a hard time. Have no idea. Who knows. Certainly not me.
read a redit thread that ccp panicked with the DDOS attack and basically palm hit the keyboard turning of ports now there ummm which one do we turn on now ? at the same time they released a launcher update not sure if its fake news but meh wouldn’t be surprised with ccp remember them deleting half the worlds boot.ini

The same reddit also stated that some folks left and the code is old. Maybe so old nobody knows that much about it anymore. Its a reddit and thus you have to consider the source. Still it makes a person that is so blind to technology wonder. Its funny to watch all the fanbois and fangurls come running to defend, when someone just ask a question. I asked whats up and got jumped on by a nerdalanch of irate nerds.

Some of us with jobs actually pay to play, on more than one character. If we can’t play that means we paying for nothing. If you go to macdonalds and pay for a burger, you expect a burger.
You the one who needs to grow up and maybe take something to calm you down…

There’s no doubt that after this has all been resolved, CCP should at least add a couple of days onto our Omega subscriptions. ■■■■ happens and I am happy to be patient, even if it takes weeks but I do expect to have my Omega time compensated for. That is only fair imo. I am new to the game and I assume CCP will do this. To not would be bad for them in terms of the growth of the game. I have confidence in them.

I haven’t been able to connect for days (US east coast), but today I just tried to connect again from the screen you get to after it fails to connect the first time - and it has worked two times now. I don’t know if I’m just lucky, but it might be worth a try. Maybe the launcher has a bug that can be circumvented this way.
im on the east coast as well. i cant connect either. and when i do the lag is unbearable
