30-31/01/2020 - Connectivity Issues

This - still. 01/30/2020 approx 7:40pm.

This doesn’t seem like a DDoS thing - this seems more systemic.

common sense really, but you go on being angry…

Network communication between your computer and the EVE Online server has been interrupted. … …

“you are not connecting today” popup msg same as last night while under DDOS.

But, this time I clicked through this popup, and tried the “connect” button on what used to be the direct login screen, and it worked!

Now I can experience a “connect to chat server” problem that other ppl are talking about. Still, I feel like I’m making progress

The connectivity issue continues for Eastern US. I was connected earlier, but am now being stopped by the DDoS prevention service CCP selected.

Oh the irony…

Yup, US East is still screwed atm.

i still cant login, us east

I can get in using VPN, still get the initial connection error but then click connect and it works with no lag, all chat works.

Can’t log in from US east coast, 90% of the time.
Repeated tries eventually gets me in, briefly.
Chat broken.
Market/button lag.
10 mins in, hard “connection lost”
Curse audibly, quit, try again an hour later, 5th day.

I hear too many rumors of account bans, etc using vpn to bother trying. Wait and see what CCP does about this once it’s over and or submit a ticket once i have a solid length of interruption to report and qq about. :frowning:

Yeah, well I would open a support ticket if that happens. https://support.eveonline.com/hc/en-us/articles/203629415-VPN-and-Proxy-Use

Yeah, I’m not surprised that it’s allowed technically, but as the article says, It may result in a ban for w/e reason outside the normal and how long are tickets taking to be replied to atm ? I’d prob be screwed for even longer than I am now waiting on support to respond. :frowning:

Atm, even if it sucks, I can manage to get on long enough to kill a few belt rats to get the skilling spree SP. Even if I can’t actually do anything that makes me isk :sob:

I’ll just wait and ask for lost game time to be compensated on my sub or something when it’s over. I’m sure the wife would be happy if I got caught up on chores in the mean time

No it doesn’t.

Yeah, if I get some random IP from my VPN provider that they have ‘history’ with. That’s exactly what it says.

Diff IP block than i’m on with my ISP, and I dont’ want random regions being the norm for connection to my account either.

Here is an interesting event. I am unable to log into EVE with my omega account. I tried using my alpha account which I have not used in several months, on the same computer. I got in easily. A little slow once I was in, but…
I tried to log back in with my omega account and was told I can’t have an alpha account going at the same time, which it wasn’t.
Shut down game, try to log on and no go. after a few attempts, I got in to the character screen, but it still thinks I have an alpha account running.
shrugs

That is not “you getting banned” that is “there is a possibility of being assigned a previously blacklisted IP addy so put in a ticket”.

So you were wrong.

Eastern US here- cannot connect. Lost several expensive ships, fits, & implant sets over this week in Abyssal, due to disconnects that weren’t on my end. Ya, I’m a little pissed, but I knew the risks. Oh well.

So anyway, I just want to say how grateful I am that CCP is working on these issues after facing the recent DDoS attacks. Many people have no clue what it is to love & play a game that was released and then given no support afterwards- a game that was patched, modded, and policed mostly by a community of players who just wanted to play the game. That game was Tachyon The Fringe, released by Nova Logic back in 2000- while EVE was still a fart in the wind.

We had plenty of DDos attacks, people using hacks, and a publisher who basically made the game unplayable with their own patch before pulling the plug on the server years later. But because of a small group of people who could code (not myself) and a strong community, that game wasn’t allowed to go silently in the night.

My point is; we would have killed to have the kind of support that CCP provides EVE. If fact, if we would have had said support (with community feedback & input) Tachyon The Fringe would have been EVE- at least in design. So thank you CCP. I appreciate your hard work!!

I don’t want to risk it, I just want it to work normally as should rightfully be expected instead of working around nonsense. You’re too hung up on being right or wrong. ■■■■ don’t work as it should currently, and I’m waiting until it does. You do you, I’ll do me.

I still play Delta Force locally. Was fun 25 years ago :o/

East Coast as well. Been having issues since Monday and as the week has gone by it has gotten worse. Difficulty logging in, once I log in - connection is iffy. Regular lag spikes and just timing out. Live EVE is the only thing affected.

Okay @CCP Dopamine

I get you guys are mostly euro’s so you really have no concept of what time of year it is.

Here in the US it is Tax Refund season. That’s right us bunch of nerds (for the most part) are sat here with $1000’s of dollars of refund cash looking for a place to spend it.

Personally I was looking at dropping a couple of G on EVE, but if this is both the level of quality AND communication CCP believes is acceptable then I will spend my money on a product that deals with it’s customers respectfully and actually makes more than one post a day in what is now FIVE days of the EVE product being unfit for purpose.

Get it together or shut it down until you can provide a working product.
