HA! I laugh in your face, this is NOTHING.
Back when I started playing we used to call it eve-offline.
We had several (REAL) crashes every single day,
I mean the whole of eve community was unable
to log in for hours on end. Sometimes even days.

Reimbursement of ships ? HAHAHAHAHA !!!
All we got was a message, explaining how CCP
on their end didnā€™t see any problems at the time
of the unfortunate event of your ship going BOOM !
It must have been automated.

Did we get skill points as compensation ?
ROFL, no not ever had I heard of such a silly
thing, and I was actually disappointed when that
happened for the first time. It was a new era.
Did we quit ? Apparently not, I am still here.

I was having log-in problems after activating the Launcher, getting that old log-in screen with the connect button and a pop-up message saying ā€˜couldnā€™t connectā€™. So I opened the ā€˜Shared Cacheā€™ menu in the Launcher and ā€˜Verifiedā€™ the integrity of all downloaded files, it purged somewhere around 1500 extra files, I then closed the launcher and reopened it and now have no problems logging into the game.

EDIT:

That was before Downtime, I just logged in and the same old log-in screen showed up with the same pop-up message, I just closed it and reactivated the launcher, no problem logging in this time.

Now about the chat issue, during Downtime I googled how to open a port in Win 10, I followed the directions and now in-game chat is working.

Update, I could login this morning after two failed tries. Comm channels are also working again atm, but thereā€™s some very strong lag going on.

Was able to log in today, and even had chat.

Unfortunately there are massive lag spikes and random disconnects, so the game is still in an unplayable state for me.

Uninstalled and reinstalled, now the log in screen will not even loadā€¦From US east coast.

I was able to log in after downtime and things worked fine except the chat. As time went on and more people came online, everything started to lag. Itā€™s a server problem that needs to be fixed.
