EVE Uni also regularly updates. I mean its very easy to find up to date ship fittings on Work Bench and even the Abyss running site.
C’mon now. Don’t get sucked in. It’s Grampy Box Boy
You can tell from the way he types. It’s funny how he tries to disguise it in the beginning, but as he gets more invested and emotional, it always reverts back to form
@Aiko_Danuja that is nothing more than a test of something I based off of an Aceface YouTube version. It didn’t hold up as well as I expected, but it was not built to spec. either. You are now phishing, for information about me as a person, based on my non-PvP character and the one I use to test ship builds. Losing that ship, would it really upset you? Are you actually saying I have been seething for almost 2 months now over it?
This is not about my review or my postings. The obsessive behavior you have, for me as a person, might not be healthy. You seem prone to envision me as some child who will lash out at you for no good reason. You feel I was hurt by a loss of single test ship. I have lost several ships during the past 6 months of this game. People who feel tension or serious trauma from PvP games, might think about playing something else or seeking mental help.
@Io_Koval I won’t go out of my way to “blow her up”, we might not ever know we engaged with one another in combat. As I said, Darkstar is not my PvP character. It would be ( in my opinion ) poor taste to show up in the forum as a killer. Also I would never link my personal information for a stalker to track me. Darkstar is a test pilot / miner / utility and definitely not my main. Srima was the random first name given by the random name generator. However the surname was so awful so I changed it to a 1974 sci-fi movie by John Carpenter.
@DeMichael_Crimson actually I was hoping someone would comprehend the quote by Friedrich Nietzsche. If you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you. was a statement that chasing and fighting what you deem to be evil will only corrupt you in the end. Maybe I should have quoted Ghandi with his “Eye for an eye will only make the whole world blind.” instead?
Now if you will excuse me, I will be back after New Years. I can’t wait to see what Aiko has to say about Aceface’s ship builds when I return.
Yeah, I understood what that quote was about. Unfortunately some posters here, due to hiding behind the anonymity of the internet, don’t follow the Golden Rule of ‘Do unto others as you would have them do unto you’.
If you’re only using that account and that guy then you’re not playing EVE since that character rarely ever logs in. Everyone knows that’s your forum alt that you use to troll people.
You know what, I personally don’t care if half these members are alts. Gix definitely takes his elbow room and doesn’t seem to care about politeness or decency. I wouldn’t call him a troll, he’s more like a devil’s advocate who doesn’t seem to know what he’s advocating for.
He constantly lies and insults people and almost never has anything constructive to add to a topic, so I’m sticking with “he’s a troll”. I think he quit playing the game a long time back but can’t take that final step to actually go somewhere else, so he just sits around being bitter and accusing everyone of being some guy he hates.
Some of what the OP touched on are good points and for many gamers there is the issue that CCP really isn’t selling something they like. They banked on PvP too much and had a lot of success when huge wars kept EVE popular in the media, but it’s not so good when activity dips. The game itself needs to be entertaining.
It is changing, CCP are making some good decisions that make the PvP that does still exist easier to find and to improve PvE and exploration mechanics and opportunities to be more engaging, but there will always be these trolls that complain about any change.
I don’t know what he does but it looks to me that this forum is his only social outlet where he can still behave in a loathsome manner and no one can do anything. That’s appealing to a character like his.
Everything is changing, all over the world and repercussions can be seen online of course.
There will always be people who will resist change, even if it’s beneficial to them, just because they see an advantage for another they don’t approve of. But they know they fight a losing battle hence all the bitterness.
I don’t like to critique people’s work. I don’t see anything wrong with the game. There’s some technical issues but they’re always working on those but to come on this forum whining and crying, pretending to know better than the hundreds of devs at CCP is laughable. And this idea that only “Pvers” and/or Carebears or Krabs or whatever the hell terms they come up with to devide players come on the forum to whine is as laughable as the former.
Why not? I live in Kinakka. I just told the whole forum, is there something you know that I should now be wary of?
So… how are we supposed to know you are actually a “new user” (as described by the forum post title)?
Ah yes, it is everyone else’s problem “comprehending the quote” from a passage of Jenseits von Gut und Böse from one of the more tepid pessimistic philosophers.
You picked the quote that is so overshared that the understanding of it is divorced from understanding the rest of his work in context. This quote appears in a long list of quotes in the Viertes Hauptstück which is literally a list of him throwing as many unsourced sayings as possible and hoping he can get them to stick. Your elaboration “fighting what you deem to be evil will only corrupt you in the end” is so antithetical to the point of Nietzsche’s work (hint: it’s in the title of this work) and is so far off the mark of modern philsophical interpretations of the quote, that it makes your misplaced condescension almost forgivable – if it wasn’t for your insufferable attitude that felt the need to pull out yet another overshared quote, this time from “Ghandi” [sic].
No wonder no one in a video game forum feels the strong need to engage with a wanna-be philosopher and his quotes. We beg of you, Forgive Us, O wise one!

The PvE is boring, and there are a ridiculous number of restrictions on PvP. The penalties for shooting player stuff, even in lowsec, are absurdly out of scale with the rewards for shooting NPCs…and this whole system forces PvP players to either engage in PvE to raise security standing or pay for absurdly expensive clone tags and Concord fee. And to cap off the absurdity, you pay a Concord fee at a lowsec bureau even if you never go to highsec and even though Concord never go to lowsec.
PvE players rattle on about the odd case of ‘nonconsensual PVP’ they encounter, yet PvP players encounter ‘nonconsensual PvE’ all the time.
Indeed…you shot at my Gila last night in the Astrahus battle in Kinakka…though I escaped. I think that’s the first time I’ve had combat with a forum member. We lost rather a lot of Gilas !
A pretty good form up from all parties involved, we were prepared for a world of pain. Were you also at the earlier brawl in Athounon? Kinakka wound up being the second run-in we had with the ABSO Gila fleet, and by that time whoever your FC was decided enough was enough and y’all tried to headshot our FC, which was highly entertaining to listen to on comms. Y’all nearly got’em.
Likewise.
Forum-posting alts always talk about forum-member combat as being some scary risk that requires their anonymity for protection, and now I’m just siting here thinkin’ “It’s pretty cool me and another forum member can banter about the same event from opposite sides, more interesting than the usual forum topics beaten to death”.
Weird, I enjoy the PvE and I have absolutely no problem finding PvP every day. Yes, if you rarely leave highsec you’re going to have problems shooting other people’s stuff, that’s because it’s highsec.
I’m even heading out to almost certain death right now
If you never go to highsec then you never need to pay that fee. You pay that fee to be able to enter highsec, and you pay it in lowsec so that you can actually dock and pay it before entering highsec. It makes sense. It’d be useless for concord to ban you from docking in highsec but require you to dock in highsec to pay them.
I have pretty formidable skills now, and am venturing into low and null more often…mainly because I’m practically indestructible in highsec which really isn’t much fun. My high skills in armour/tank etc are why I survived yesterday’s combat in Kinakka that saw most of our Gilas destroyed…though I limped off the battlefield with just 10% hull left.
As for PvE, I just dont like fighting AI that simply cannot match the complexity of human interactions. Yesterday’s combat was glorious chaos…unpredictable…the usual array of people not doing what the FC says, and so on. One simply cannot program that, at least not yet. One day AI will be indistinguishable from real players, but until then I much prefer fighting against and with real players.
