Please reconsider the ban, it would be a black page in Eve history if gigX gets booted out forever.
Then you and me should also be able to agree. This discussion is not about if gigx did something wrong. Because everyone in this thread is in agreement about that. But the horrible loose way of wielding a ban hammer and the inconsistency of wielding the ban hammer in similar cases.
People have said worse things to me after I popped them. Yet I still see them fly round.
Which proves inconsistency following there own set of rules. And ofcourse no one can provide proof since that in itself is a bannable offense.
Another more recent example for those claiming mittens thing was 5 years ago. Lets a back just a few years. Dude that threatenend erotica1, with similar words. Never received a perma ban because he was put under pressure by ourside forces aka heat of the moment.
What ccp needs to do here is show consistency. If we follow the trail of inconsistency ccp has allowed themselves to create gigx doesnt deserve a permaban. Everyone here also thinks he deserves a ban. We just dont agree on the duration.
Either ccp shows they indicriminately treat cases litteraly case by case. And show acknowledges they are incostistent. If thats the case they nees to relook at gigx his ban and make it of a different duration.
Or ccp draws a line in the sand. But it needs to be a freaking deep one. And from this day need to be utterly consistent wielding the ban hammer in similar and all situations. If not players will notice in a heartbeat. Since they will notice players they petitioned for similar behavior still flying round. And it would irrepirably harm the game and cause its end.
Neither of these two option is a pretty one. But ccp will.need to chose either give or take. So I do not envy there position right now.

Why do you think Judge was the one who reported it? Anyone watching that stream or in Alliance chat could have reported him. 1,700 people watched gigx threaten him, and everyone I was in comms with knew gigx’s alt.

No, quit kidding yourself. This is inexcusable behavior and many of us, myself included, would NOT pull that ■■■■. I’d be extremely mad, and upset, but that doesn’t make me threaten people or try to doxx them, nor should it have that effect on any reasonable person. The fact that Gigx chose that route is completely inexcusable, and given that this isn’t the first time gigx has done something of the sort, it will be extremely disappointing if CCP ever reverses this ban.
CCP, please listen to your community: Real life threats and attempts to doxx should be zero tolerance, ESPECIALLY by key leadership figures with a lot of sway.

I’m not entirely sure you understand how this works. They met in person because they are both CSMs. Therefore they were both in Iceland. They were there for meetings. This is a thing that happens. This was business.
With regard to your suggestion that Judge was paid cash out of game for what he did, unless you have any proof I’d stop throwing around that accusation as it’s a pretty serious one.
