It’s really funny.
When Erotica1 was pressuring someone who obviously had serious mental issues at that time, it’s ok.
When the Mittani is making stupid jokes about some ingame mail and stepping over the line in the end this is really serious .
When this GigX guy makes RL threats - no mental problems involved, just normal anger - this is ok. (Let alone the further EULA violations afterwards)
Honestly, a lot of ■■■■ is written and said in and around the game, most of it is not taken seriously and can’t be - after all, we are all roleplaying to some extend. If I got a mail like the one from the Mittani video, I wouldn’t take this seriously either.
RL threats however, I would take seriously. Not because I would be afraid (well, maybe a little in some cases), but because it’ simply one of those things you don’t joke around with.
CCP has always been shitty with how they enforce their rules. This likely has nothing to do with the CSM, so you should either stop being a paranoid nuisance or just find another game to play.
I would rather see the game burn and die as long as it remained true to itself… not trying to chance to this new-age millennial crybaby factory we have here. Go play another game. I’m begging you to leave.
So we can agree that what mittens did even though he claimed was drunk. But later logs show he played that card. To help get him out of the mess. Is a vile and dispicable person calling for the harresment of a mentaly unstable suicidal player to push him over the edge ?? And 40k accounts are still allowed go follow him in game. Also not to mention the doxxing attempts goonswarm attempted last year on dissident members during world war bee. But there was only out of game logs to prove it? And again He is still allowed to play this game. All he did is equally bad or worse. Yet people and especially goonswarm and there pets seem to forget this and obviously defend it. By keep saying he is drunk or that didnt happen. I wish I could claim that card. Must be a nice get out of jail free card
So if you make exceptions for human reactions that are probably just someone venting… what do you do when you have a situation like this where some internet spaceship nerd actually does physical harm to another.
They have a rule and they are good to enforce it. Why is this game filled with adults that seem to scratch and claw for the right to act like 12 year old autists?
Well… Why is Mittani still playing? He dindt offend a player, he didnt talk in a “emotional” situtation. It was planned. It was planned to encourage a 40k playerbase write someone he should suicide… ?
Apparently CCP quote of HTFU doesn’t apply when it comes to the EULA. Perhaps someone should tell Judge to HTFU instead of running to CCP like a crybaby when he got the reaction that he baited gigX in to.
At this point I don’t understand, really, who is worst in EVE and real life. A person who shitposting and IRL threatening or a person who betrayed 4000 neutral people and stolen their 1 000 000 000 000 ISK/3 000 000 ISK/PLEX = 333 333 PLEX = $15 000 gained over the last 3 years.
[updated with corrected data]
How do you know any bonus room participant “obviously had serious mental issues”? You are aware that Erotica1 ended up getting witchhunted and permabanned, right?
well, encouraging someone to kill themselves is not really the same as saying i’m gonna take your hands away.
I do infact agree that the mittani’s actions are unforgivable to me, however we can’t go back in time and change the punishment handed out by CCP.
It’s a good thing that mittens doesn’t have to live with the fact that this guy did indeed commit suicide due to his heinous actions performed at fanfest.
however, eve learned and evolved, and I think they made changes in the eula to protect eves playerbase from having to live in fear of someone taking action against them oog.
So he made a mistake and was forgiven, why should the same not apply to gigX?
Anyone with an ounce of common sense can see this. GigX apologised in a public SOTA of what he did and that it was wrong which he regrets. Mitanni apologised through gritted teeth.
Being “bad” in Eve doesn’t matter at all. You can asshole all day long as long as it stays within the game, it’s called content and that is a good thing.
Because nobody in his right mind would play that stupid game or at least say “■■■■ it” in the middle of it.
And yes, I know the outcome.
And we’ve yet to see anything from GigX, he’s told his Alliance that he woke up angry. No public apology, no apology to the person he offended, and he has a history of threatening people in the past. It’s not like this is the first incident, and it’s high time CCP made sure it’s his last.
Right now - we’re not voting for judge and to be honest we shouldn’t have voted for the pompous shitlord in the first place. His behaviour over the last 24 hours has been unbecoming for a CSM who should be above this sort of thing.
Judge should be removed from CSM with immediate effect.
How can anybody say with a straight face that gigx expressed a normal human reaction? I don’t know in which circle of hell you live in, because making such threats over some pixels is just sick and disturbing. Regardless of whether or not gigx’ and co2’s history of space betrayal means they had it coming or not. You can’t just go and say such things over such an irrelevant matter, then expect everyone to be fine with it.
People voting for someone they are told to vote is a completely different problem. But I know how you feel. Probably the same as I did when I realized the person I voted for last time is pretty moronic at decision making and lacks understanding of basic game features.
That’s exactly my point. It only works on people in a certain state of mind. A state of mind that is completely different from one that is needed to be an alliance lead for ten years.
The bonus room participants were mostly either greedy or curious. Unless you have proof that the participants have mental issues, then you’re just using emotion to try and make a point. They were willing participants and were free to leave at any time.
CSM is elected to communicate with CCP on the playerbases best interests on the game development. This isn’t some moral cabinet where you have to be trustworthy or a real “stand-up guy” to represent the playerbase.
