once you agree to the eula you are no longer a Texan in the universe of new eden. texas is but a dream. there is nothing that any law can really do to stop ccp from forcing you to the courts in Iceland. as long as ccp doesnât commit any felonies which they really donât do as they have their lawyers cover them with all the wording in tos and eula - but please, call cnn, inn all the news networks, I want to see how texas rolls.

Gigx (who is a serb and lives in Serbia) was banned for irl threats to a member of his alliance (who happens to live in Australia iirc) and threaten him ti cut his hands off (after flying to Australia in order to do so i imagine). This really doesnât strike me as as a very convincing statement but however i have to agree that this kind of behaviour shall not be left unpunished and must be condemned.
A few years ago The Mittani (another alliance leader AND CSM member) did A LOT more than that in another insident we all HAVE to remember did aA LOT MORE than that, during CCPâs funfest no less, and, he was just slaped on the wrist by CCP. How does that make sense?
Furthermore the other guy âthe judgeâ (hmmm, another CSM member!!!) obviously made him mad for a purpose, although after what he did it would be hard not to make anyone furious, and baited to a heated streamed conversation only few minutes after what he did.Keep in mind that in quite a few posts i ve read were saying that gigx was complaining that The Judge was not giving him vital info on CSM discussions AS THE OTHER CSM members did for their aliiances.Also keep in mind that the plot for what The Judge did was drafted and planned during CSM meetings in Iceland or at least this what everyone is saying.
My concclusion? well
- gigx should be punished but not permabanned although regardless of that his alliance and corp have been punished even more severely
- CSM seems to be not just the instrument for the players to communicate with CCP but has eveolved into something that I am not sure that is what it was established for and there MUST be a discussion or even something more drastic on its function and even the purpose of its existence.
- as for âThe Judgeâ the players have to decide all about him.

No, it clearly stats in the eula, he cannot do what he did and also the punishment for that.

GM work on a case to case basis and while they can lift a ban when they see it suited no one is entitled to such a lift just because an other player got one. Some rule of thumb with GMs in every game: It will not better your odds to make stuff public (like Gigx did) because it makes things more complicated. Creating more work for the GMs by mass appeals wonât work either.
Yeaha and everyone would say the same in that situation.
CCP should really rethink about that. Unbanning the Mittani after he provoked a 40k playerbase to offend someone that he does a suicide is also a hard criminal act in iceland i think.

Everyone know this and everyone know that The Judge know about the reaction and started the livestream.
Just to provoke a Ban on CCP side. As a CCP Member (And yeaha THe Judge is a part of CCP) he has know what he have done with the stream.

Ok, after reading the first 150 replies, and the last few I found something interesting.
gigx has been called a content creator several times and once a great leader.
Not once has anyone called him a friend, or good corp mate, or good alliance mate, or a good player, or really said anything nice or good about him.
That probably says as much about him as his reaction does. I donât know the guy so I donât really have an opinion about him in game, but this ban is deserved.

IT is unbalanced.
First of all even if it would be a provocation, GigX stay reasponsible for his own actions.
He (i think you mean the Judge) did not do nothing to a large alliance what could not have been fixed. But GigX, with his temprament, did more harm to co2 then the Judge, could ever do.
The Judge set up a trap and GigX fell for it and has to face the consequences for it.
Further more GigX is the one who put the Judge in the position to be able to do this.
As i sayd it âokayâ what Judge did. Thats EVE.
But this âits gigX fault, he deserved it for beeing bad to meâ thing its just a self secrutiy for his soul.

This has nothing to do with what happened at Fanfest with the Mittani who was allegedly drunk.
