A return to the captains lounge or what ever it was called

A man can dream. Dont block the dream, instead, become the dreamer.

Easy for you to say.

I cant seem to fix it.

Where would i go. Can I crash at your place for a while?

I don’t even dream when I sleep, much less awake.

Easy for you to do. These broads nowadays don’t have any standards.

Practice.

Western Europe. One more ain’t gonna hurt.

Out of the question.

I would spread the cloths under your feet.
But I, being poor, have only my dreams.
I have spread my dreams under your feet.
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

That should give you a hint as to how low a girls standards must be to date me.

How do you practice beign taller?

I dont like being an illegal alien.

Come on, help a bro out.

So far nobody has actually provided any evidence to prove the feature was popular, still kind of waiting on that before we can even really get to the next phase, feature was barely used and i’ve pointed out the flaws in the “ideas” people had for the avatar gameplay, so yes, citation needed

As above, got some evidence?

Only 1% used it, if your made up 80% number were accurate i could easily find people ingame who would state they wanted CQ, yet all i ever saw was people who thought it was mostly just a waste of time, where are you getting your 80% number from exactly lol

Right, but if so many people loved the feature they would have kept using it instead of swapping back to the default hangar view

Citation needed

It wouldn’t be used by the masses in the least, i mean you’re free to think it would but i find it extremely unlikely the masses would opt-in to use it long term, sure they would swap initially just because it was new, but when it started to affect their ability to do things quickly then it would soon be dropped, not to mention all the players who already have to play EVE on potato settings due to hardware restrictions or those multiboxing who wouldn’t want the extra lag

if you have evidence to prove that it would be popular then present it

Oh no it was 3%, best reintroduce it then, its still a meaningless number, even at its peak sustained it was only hovering around 10%, which might have been atleast partially worth considering, and is likely why the feature wasn’t remove until it dropped down, all in all thats still not enough of a playerbase to really consider spending the time and resources on, its ROI pure and simple, but thats perfectly normal, if something is underperforming you reassign resources, the feature wasn’t as impressive as they had hoped, and as per usual CCP dreams big but can’t quite reach it when it comes to anything not spaceship related, so there wasn’t any more point developing the tech when the original reason for it being created, the WoD MMO, was no longer on the table

I would also like to see a return of Captain’s Quarters.

If they added sex, this feature wouldve been immensely popular, you know.

Stop back tracking, stop distorting the truth and stop stating opinions to then proclaim they are facts.

The reason it failed is because CCP never really made it for EVE nor did they even bother making it have a use. They simply dumped it into EVE to use it as a testbed for that new MMO.

They had pretty much not bothered with EVE for quite a while at that point, putting their money, dev time and other resources into WoD.

CQ didn’t fail because they tried and failed, it failed because they didn’t try and didn’t care for EVE at that point because they were betting on a new horse.

two thing they need to do FAST
1)
clothes need to be used like skins
you apply them
a list of all the clothes is available and the ones you own become marked
the current system is complicated and stupid
it doesn’t push the collector guy buttons

you can customize several character clothes and poses and save them to change latter on a simple button press
imagine having 10 slots for char pics

this would INSTA make the clothes market explode

This seems pretty similar to the ‘wE cAnT bAn BoTs ToO fAsT’ line that every gaming company that actually profits heavily off of botting uses.

Except the former is true. Still, it was an excuse. The real reason CCP stopped developing CQ is that they are lazy and it doesn’t make them any money so why bother.

The need to update it for 64bit client must have weighted heavily on the remove option, like they wrote, but I think it was more about the team that wasnt able to do it anymore. They were after rather big personnel lay-offs in previous years. Of course company will not really write anything like: “We failed in game business repeatedly and are in bad personnel situation, we need to trim the game to code manageable by smaller team.”

Simply the chances for CCP to reintroduce something like avatar gameplay are so slim, they are nearly zeroed by all the factors. And anyone thinking about introducing something like sex to the avatar gameplay must be bonkers honestly, if serious.

That sounds exactly like what Avakin Life has. Still, I approve.

That’s right, you included. Except we’re right and you’re wrong and that’s just the way it is. You’re going to have to get used it. Your days of making unsubstantiated claims are over.
And don’t even mention CCP or their numbers. At this point I believe Pinocchio over them.

I like how your response also precisely describes the captains quarters.

There are other games for 3rd person view walking your avatar around, EVE isn’t one of them. Our pilot is directly connected to the ship and in pod goo specifically to avoid this kind of 3rd person walking through the ship.

Sure, CCP could reintroduce a single place where your character can stretch their legs, but this will (because of capsules) never become a main part of the game.

Third person human view will never be more than a small side project in the game, yet it would require a huge amount of development time to have acceptable gameplay similar to other games that actually are about 3rd person view walking your character around.

That brings me back to your quote: EVE is not that kind of game.

If you want to walk around in a space ship, there are many games* that already offer this, go play one of those and let CCP spend that developmemt time at what EVE is good at: internet spaceships.

*Warframe for example, I like that one

CCP obviously disagreed with that. they introduced CQ and not even under players’ request so while your retort is cute the basis for it has no foundation.

Yes, Warframe is kick-arse. There is an MMO whose Devs don’t take the players for vegetables and the game for a cash-cow.

CCP introduced the QC when they were actively working on a 3rd person view RPG. That made it much easier to implement and maintain 3rd person view avatar gameplay like the QC in a game that otherwise is about spreadsheets and submarines in space.

That project got scratched. And QC was rarely used and draining maintenance cost.

I understand why it was introduces, but also completely understand why it was removed.

It definitely is a fun game! Those devs know the strengths of their game and know what to focus on (and what not).

When I want to jump around slaughtering hordes of PvE enemies in a space setting, that’s a good game.

But imagine if they stopped part of that development time to improve the nonexistent unbalanced PvP part of the game? That they rebalanced all of the frames, mods and weapons for a ‘more balanced PvP’? They would be crazy to do so, as almost noone in that game cares about PvP, the game isn’t built for pvp and all that development time would be wasted…

Much like a CQ in EVE.

Yes, that is not in question. What is in question is why.
It was “rarely used” because CCP didn’t finish it, they didn’t even implement it properly, they started it and abandoned it because it wasn’t going to make them money. That is what is at issue in this thread, that’s what we’re discussing.

Your understanding is flawed. Read:

That is the issue that some people can’t get through their thick head.

My understanding isn’t flawed, I do understand what you’re getting at and still don’t think it’s a good idea.

The only way the CQ would contain ‘actual content’ that would make me use it, is if CCP changed the game and locked new or old useful content behind the CQ.

And apart from the bad decision to waste development time on 3rd person view mode in a game that is about something completely different, it would be an even worse decision to force people to use it by locking away necessary content behind it.

For example, CCP could make the CQ and allow us to only use the agency from within the CQ. Now you will have people using the CQ! And angry people too, who need to dock up and load a useless CQ just to access that part of the game.

And if you don’t lock useful things behind CQ, you get in the same old situation that nobody is going to load that room to play internet spaceships, because they don’t have to.

Many other players do think it’s a good idea.

“Locking” content behind anything is a bad idea. Players just want to get out of their pod once in a while and walk around. If they have a reason beyond just wanting it it’s even better and CCP could give them that reason by allowing them to access different station features in CQ.

No one is talking about forcing anyone to do anything. CQ could be just another feature and obviously CCP agrees otherwise they wouldn’t have started to include it in the first place.

It’s been successfully argued in this thread that players do lots of things they don’t have to do already so that argument is moot.

If you’re not forcing me to use the CQ to access gameplay, I probably won’t use it and with me many others (see why the CQ was removed), making it wasted development and maintenance to reintroduce it.

So yes, you implicitly are talking about forcing me to use the CQ ‘with new content’, otherwise your argument that people ‘would use it if it had content’ would not make sense.

You are just one person, this thread is chock-full of players just begging CCP to reintroduce it, finish it and make it good.

Not according to this thread. According to this thread, many others would welcome a return of CQ. Read the thread and count the hearts in favor of it.

Get over yourself, you are but one EVE player.
