The debate has gone back and forth for years, some are against a change, some are for a change. each have their reasons, some on both side are valid. I am not going to get into the debate with you, or indeed anyone else.

Every individual is a minority of one. You donā€™t get more ā€œsmall guyā€ than that. Every single one of us is a ā€œsmall guyā€, and we are all part of the scheme. The cluster is yours for the taking.

Can you help me with this? I am a returning player after quite some time away ā€¦ there was High Sec moon mining?

As a sov holder, I want to control who I decloak with that stuff and not have some rando scrubs passing by decloaking my stuff. But since wormholers have been crying about cloaky campers a lot lately, my hope are very likely in vain.

I have to say I like that attitude, meaning not wanting to decloak the wrong people (thank you for that). But every time this comes up itā€™s someone else complaining about cloaked camping. First I was told it was large null blocks, then miners in null, then a few that didnā€™t make much sense, but who knows, now you are saying itā€™s wormholers? I am one, and I didnā€™t know this, but thereā€™s also a problem, as far as I have seen on this topic itā€™s always been someone who can be seen in local. This rules out wormholes by default as afk people donā€™t type in local chat.
Or am I missing something here?

@CCP_Dopamine

A new intel tool is also coming to New Eden in the next months, one that will offer novel defenses against covert operations in New Eden.

What kind of covert operations ? Does this include any ship that can use a covert ops cloaking device ? Because here we have explorers , AFK cloaky campers , black ops hunters, etc.
In what way it will affect specific covert operations like the ones I mentioned ? Is it going to have an uniform effect or is it going to be a particular one depending on the task performed in said ā€œcovert operationā€ ?

CCP, Lunatic Asylum is this wayā€¦ :-1:

its getting worse with every new update. chapeau ccp rantanplan.

Yes.

They changed moon mining. Instead of setting up a POS and passively harvesting moongoo, you set up an ā€œAthanorā€ with a massive drill that actually tractor beams a gigantic chunk from the moon. This chunk explodes and creates an ore field.

When it was first introduced it was possible to mine ABC ores in HiSec (they added a new 15% yield variant for moons). Then they nerfed it and removed the ABC ores so now itā€™s just low grade moongoo in HiSec.

Hm this seems strange. People who live in or use WHs just assume thereā€™s always a cloaky on grid.

I didnā€™t say itā€™s just wormholers. I said that they have been crying a lot lately, which rules out a sov structure because everyone and their dog should be able to decloak cloaky campers everywhere. Just because you didnā€™t notice anything doesnā€™t mean other people didnā€™t cry:

People in null also always assume that the cloaky camper is not AFK but still call them AFK campers. Split personality disorder or something. Assuming is one thing, making sure is better.

ā€œAs a renter who canā€™t control the space I ā€˜ownā€™ I want special privileges to protect my stuff and prevent people from messing with meā€.

They really arenā€™t. The only argument against AFK cloaking is from entitled farmers who think that because they rent a system they should be able to have near-guaranteed immunity to attack provided by local even though they are completely incapable of defending themselves against even token PvP threats.

Of course now CCP (or their F2P mobile trash owner) has apparently decided that farmers are a good cash cow to milk and they need to remove some obstacles to everyone being able to P2W a participation trophy.

You are safe, so you claiming to help the game removing safety from others while being 99.99% safe.

Why is everyone saying this is the ā€œendā€ of cloaky camping? Its a indy changeā€¦

Because most t2 ships by default incorporate a tech1 ship hull under their material requirements. So, tech2 hulls are affected just as well.

This nonsensical argument has been destroyed over and over and over and over and over again. AFK cloakers are only safe as long as they do nothing but sit idle in a safespot, accomplishing absolutely nothing except having their name in local. To do anything useful they must at some point decloak and engage, at which point they face significant risk unless their target is a useless perma-victim that refuses to fight back.

Because the article mentions a ā€œcounterā€ to covert ships.
