New player here, about 30 mins in. I am having a hard time with understanding the actions. Afterburner doesn’t give any visual or audio feedback.
This was addressed in 2020, but doesn’t seemed to have been implemented - Afterburner visual cues
Very nice coding on this forum for that reference. Also I cant see general feedback category, only photon UI. Mods please move this to the correct category.
General feedback is per expansion, but usually you can post comments about bugs/issues/ideas not directly related to expansion-specific changes there as well:

Propulsion mods in the game are not among the types of module that are rendered on a ship (like guns are, for example), thus there are less options to add visual effects to them. When you turn on AB or MWD your thrusters exhaust visual effect increases, so that is taken care of. Other than that, what kind of a visual effect did you have in mind?
General Feedback for the game itself does not exist. You can post your feedback in this forum, however: EVE Technology and Research Center > Player Features & Ideas
As for the visual cues. They exist, but they are way subtler than in the past or than for the MWD.
This is normal speed without AB:
As for Audio Effects: The AB has the same audio effect as the MWD. You have to increase the audio volume of Ship Ambience in the Audio settings to hear it, though.
The main indicator is that your top speed has increased.
