Also, as I already mentioned, using a omega gank alt as an SP farm makes it almost free, so there is really no advantage in using an alpha over an omega for ganking or any alt which has a fixed amount of SP.

But, it seems it would be nice to have an Alpha about to gank in a T2 Cat. That way you could multibox, and only pay money/PLEX for one account. No?

Now I wouldnt want to push it too far but a second computer to have an omega alt as a pickup alt or other such isnt against the rules CCP has set up.

You’ll need to provide links (to CCP TOS etc) with appropriate bits highlighted or (for preference) a ticket response from a DEV saying that’s OK to convince me of that (not that I delude myself for one second that you worry about convincing me or not… just saying ), iirc from official CCP blurb I’ve read myself you appear to be going 100% counter to some (very) explicit CCP statements there?

Id have to find it and frankly I dont want to dig for it. But CCP has stated that they were using the same log in and restrictions as the old trial accounts. Then I did actually tell a GM over a year ago and he was quite fine with it. But yes convincing you isnt my job here and CCP can do anything due to the EULA and TOS anyway. So they can change their minds at any point in time.

So Im alright with how I play and often its better to be safe than sorry so I dont mind your pov. Doesnt hurt my game in the slightest.

Why gank some hauler with 1mil when you could be spending that time ganking someone worth 1bil?

With everyone doing profit and other ganking this was one area that noone has done before in an entirely different way with new mechanics changes. You know… true innovation and emergent gameplay.

I encourage this, but no offense, you didn’t innovate anything here.

And ganking for ‘profit’ is needed when you’re throwing bomber/talos/nado fleets around. Unless of course you can afford to lose over a bil isk every gank, then more power to you I guess. Most of us are just happy to get enough to keep ganking.

If you can gank even better as an Alpha, than before, you save a cash sub or 1.5bil isk for PLEX even more efficiently than before.

He means sp farming… even with no implants PLEX is only costing like 200-300mil after farming every month. Which is 1 okay drop from an industrial.

It also means, that a large T2 fit Alpha gank fleet, can take down even bigger targets than before.

These fleets have never existed (and probably never will).

Its a trivial matter to recruit someone else to pick it up, and its possible often to simply log in on another hauler alt and grab the loot with that. Most players in HS avoid wrecks like the plague.

Who honestly wants to just be a loot scooper? I don’t think it’s as easy as you’re saying to find. A ganker I know used to log off after a gank and log in scooper, depending on the gate traffic it can work. He did get theifed many times before adding more accounts tho.

Most players sprint towards a wrecks when they see a gank. You don’t have the luxury to let it sit there long.

Actually what I did was innovate on an old idea. I was around when D400, youll remember him, was doing the 250 double taps everywhere. Its actually how I found out about it was asking the guys about the fit for it. The 280s are an innovation whether you like to say they are or not.

As for the cov ops ganking it is affordable yet not much traffic only. And yes I do have enough to toss a full bomber alt fleet at targets if I so wish and not worry about the cost to myself. Yes this is a luxury as most are doing what you say they are. In fact if you go to Mobaks first kill in 2012 it was a nado gank for profit. DIdnt get the drop though. Isnt my first gank toon and wont be my last.

Why not close the game and load another alt which should be logged off on the same gate/belt before the gank?

What I mean is, if you wanted to multibox, and an Alpha clone has the skills to fit a gank Catalyst… wouldn’t it be preferable to use an Alpha for the second character? So you don’t have to pay any money or PLEX for the account? Or, you could just have both accounts as Alpha. But maybe I’m missing something here?

Yes you are…

The fact that CCP has it in the TOS that you’re not allowed to have an alpha logged in with another account at the same time (neither another alpha nor an Omega) making it impossible to multi box it with a second alt … it’s a bannable offence.

Some will tell you you can use a second PC to get around that, myself I’m far from convinced that won’t result in a ban as well if you get caught.

EDIT:

Besides that there are those here who will say if you have the alpha alt & it has all the skills you want it to have then you can skill farm it & that will be enough to pay for it’s sub so why not sub it anyway.

Realistically, the number of people who would devote a second system to running an alpha gank account is negligible. There are far more profitable ways to use that second tower than running an alpha account.

It is against the EULA to multibox alphas. Also it would in no way be more profitable.

The amount of dps you can dish out is very important and you just want all those skills to V to be at max efficiency. Otherwise you would need even more accounts to kill the same target and it would cost you more because the ships you need are still the same.

As already mentioned you can get almost free omegas by sp extracting. So everyone who is using an alpha to gank or thinks this could be a problem is probably just bad at math.

That’s not innovation, it’s iteration.

You took a thing and improved it. Solstice invented the fitting, d400 modified it and spread it, you iterated and made it a different thing. Though there’s room for arguing here, because the original fitting was intended to allow cheap ganking of shuttles+pods and your fitting isn’t actually cheap at all.

It would be innovation if you were Steve Jobs, who took other people’s ideas, “improved” them and convinced everyone that it’s a new thing, despite it not being a new thing. (see GUIs/Xerox, iPads (Microsoft/Star Trek TNG), etc)

No offense intended, but nowadays “innovation” is used as a buzzword and that’s likely why you think you innovated. None the less did you take it a step further, which is cool.
