The Alphas were going to get sentry drones but that was changed to only heavy drones by the looks of it. Most gank vexors Ive seen run the sentries for DPS at range as Concord messes with drone bandwidth the moment they show up so its instant loss of dps.
Also most Vexors are indy killers not for freighters and such. Hence why the brutix might actually be a slightly cheaper option to the talos. Theres a huge increase in dps with a T2 fitted OHed talos with T2 ammo versus the meta 4 talos. But without the ability to use L T2 guns it means only the T2 medium brutix would have approx the same dps. Whereas without T2 M dps and ammo the brutix wouldnt have more dps than the catalyst really or the vexor.
But its close and Im going off guesstimates from what Ive played around with in pyfa. So my numbers might be off but I doubt by much. Just theory crafting mostly.
OP, donāt tell anyone I told you, but there actually is a group with an elaborate plan using Alphas for ganks. Afaik theyāre planning to use cap-stable Hyperions. Donāt let them get you, they already know where you mine. Beware the Hype. Fly safe and
A casual perusal of the market shows most Tornados are currently sold outside of HS.
I expect that to change, and once HS retools to build them, I expect a drop in price.
I havent run the numbers on how much alpha a Alpha Tornado will be able to put out.
Im not a ganker and dont know all the math involved, but if I was/did, I would certainly be excited by the Alpha changes and trying to find a way to leverage those to gankers advantage.
There is literally zero negative effects from these changes to gankers, only possible benefits. Especially regarding Tornados and their unique attributes that are perfect for delivering a serious punch, at far less cost than a BS, especially to large/valuable targets. (which seems to be the rational direction Ganking is evolving into. More focus on big fish/whales than wasting time on cheap targets just for the tears.)
I, for one, hope that these changes will result in a significant upswing in ganking of high value whales floating through HS. The game NEEDS this to happen. Too much value passes through HS, uncontested.

Alpha just means there will be more people, more people to gank you (or others), and more to be ganked ā¦ it has (& will have) zero effect on what are the best ships TO gank with ā¦ because all of those ships are all T1 destroyers (using a cost (ISK) benefit (DPS per ISK ratio) analysis.
The new alpha changes none of that & all of those ships were already all available to alphas.
You might see more ganks IF there are more players, but thereās no reason to expect more ganks per 100 players or a higher amount of ISK ganked per 100 players.
ā¦but T2 weapons with ammo (small neutron blaster IIs with Void S) were not. My DPS (overheated) has seen a sizeable increase thanks to this change. There wonāt be āmore of meā, but targets previously unavailable to me will definitely now be on the menu!
but I do still maintain that T1 guns & ammo are more cost effective (with respect to their DPS / ISK ratio), if you fly solo or have a limited number of buddies your menus expanded yes, but you still have to pay a higher price (for the ship loss to CONCORD) to access those extra menu items
And then you go on to describe how things will infact change, and admitting that T2 weapons/ammo will have an impact when it is pointed out to you, though it should have been blatantly obvious to anyone.

Saying nothing will change in regards to such a significant change to Alphas, is patently stupid. Change is change. You just arent smart enough to see the possibilities.
Its amazing that this garbage has allowed to continue as it has where suicide gankers are a protected class that takes zero risks in disposable ships in order to grief people and have the potential for insane profits.

Gank Power for Alphas has certainly increased. This is a good thing for the suicide-gankers, because we can now play a more active part in the New Eden narrative.
I was doing suicide ganks on alpha before this update, im doing it now. There are some remarks:
can fit 2x projectile accelerator into thrasher now due to advanced weapon upgrades skill, this will increase dps of thrasher, however this itself wonāt allow solo thrasher to pop frigate, whether t2 guns will do that I will see later. (donāt have char with small projectile on 5 yet)
before not really possible to solo gank industrial at gate, while sentries still disabled, the dps of drones increased really lot so it might be doable now, untested yet but in theory it should be doable
tornado is option but for someone who play as alpha and earn isk as alpha it is quite expensive, also donāt think the current tornado gankers will stop subbing as their fit is still largely omega only

suicide ganking no longer reserved to minmatar characters / this is great as I made ganking alt only because my main with 15m sp who fell to alpha clone was born in gallente and couldnāt use trasher before, now I can use my main finally
either way, alpha clone gankers have one big disadvantage, if one wants to make a profit and therefore take the loot he has to use alt. Alpha clones canāt. So either you donāt do that solo and call a friend to collect the loot or you just gank for salt/fun like meā¦
