TLDR: Barring a new type of clone (Delta), introduce some changes to Alphas. No changes to existing Alpha clones that are already maxed out at 20.5 million skill points. This is both a buff and a nerf for new Alphas.
. . . . .
• Alphas may train for free up to a maximum of 7.5 million skill points
• Alphas receive a 1.25x bonus to skill training
• Alphas can add skills points in the Alpha set up to 15 million skill points
• Alphas can no longer train into battlecruisers, battleships or any large weapons
Existing Alpha clones with skill points in battlecruisers, battleships or large weapons may retain them - but these skills are inaccessible in the future for training (or for new Alpha clones). In addition, Alphas with more than 15 million skill points retain these - but can no longer inject any skill points beyond 15 million.
This makes existing Alpha clones with skills in battlecruisers, battleships and large weapons more valuable.
• No changes for existing Alpha clones
• New Alpha clones can train slightly faster (+25%), but are capped at 7.5/15 million skill points and can no longer train into battlecruisers, battleships or large weapons.
Please re-read the original post. New Alphas clones have a lower skill point cap and additional limits on which skills they can train into. I can’t really simplify it any more than that…
What exactly is the purpose of the suggested changes?
A buff to Alpha training speed, but also a nerf to available ships for Alphas? What is it you’re trying to accomplish?
Also why would it be a good idea to have some Alpha accounts ‘grandfathered’ into battlecruisers and battleships? Wouldn’t that make it feel unfair to new Alpha pilots to know that they never can compete with other Alpha players?
I think Alphas are in a good place now, I’m missing the reason why they should be changed.
