Nope…it is you pretending that any refutation of your claims is ‘angry and abusive’ that is the real angry and abusive, as you are effectively using a straw man ad hominem and thus you are the one giving the abuse.
In post after post, I see you labelling any disagreement with you as ‘attacks’.
Nope. CCP cannot eliminate nominal value without by the same rationale eliminating Jita scams and units of Void S being sold for 1bn ISK. The whole point is that if scams are legal in Eve then there is no reason why the ‘value’ of a pod cannot be a scam too. You simply cannot have it both ways.
The whole ‘ganking for profit’ thing is simply not enforceable…which is precisely why the limits on it have not been specifically defined.
Yes, there’s non-consensual PvP, but if you gank a safety green guy then you get an insane debuff in stats and you become -10 since the first kill. Then the green safety guy will lose 2x more inventory loot comparing with the green safety guy who fights back.
So if the miner don’t fight and die, the ganker gets ruined for a long time, if you keep ganking people you won’t be able to kill not even a level 1 gatherer
For fightining non stop people will have to pick a choice:
declare guild wars
declare node wars
or be in a conflict zone
or be in the automatic pvp areas
go gank caravans: there are no consequences for ganking haulers
be in castle or node sieges
or arena
It is quite a lot and there’s:
full destruction of cities
full destruction of player structures
full destruction of ships
gear durability, repairs will actually demand materials and not just gold
It’s the most promising game in many years, it is good that the game is not being launched hastily so people will have time to understand what they are going into
They can’t go the Jack Thompson route and argue video game morality because they know that that doesn’t work anymore, but they need some kind of hinge on which to justify their arguments, and armchair-accounting does the trick.
They’re not obsessed, it’s just all they have. Try making an argument for fundamentally changing the nature of a game without relying on player counts as a crutch and watch how badly it works.
CCP used to respond that way too in the beginning, and yet here we are.
This sounds like terrible game design that has band-aid solutions coming right out the door because they can’t create equitable non-consensual PvP game mechanics, e.g. by making industrial equipment viable for combat, creating additional incentives for peaceful players to attack hooligans via a proper bounty system, etc.
In practical terms, making something possible, but punished to such a degree that it’s nearly impossible to recover from, is effectively making it impossible. It would be like kicking a ganker in EVE out of high-sec entirely until they run 1,000 agent missions in low-sec. The possibility of ganking would be there, but obviously ganking would entirely stop if that were to happen.
So I don’t really have a lot of faith in this game to deliver either a hardcore PvP experience or a dedicated casual PvE experience. It looks like they’re going to try to bite from both pies just like Amazon did (and CCP is doing), and the end result will be them smashing both pies in their face at the same time. I don’t think there’s a single hardcore PvP MMO on the horizon that will emulate EVE in its early years, though thankfully we still have FPS survival games that follow the original formula and are doing well, although as I mentioned elsewhere their forums are also full of crybaby whiners begging for the PvP to be turned off.
there is one kind of player that play eve but really don’t like it that much
he find the game boring and dream about a more edgy wow
every time some new MMO say , PVP , they wet their pants
sry folks , it will not work , the game will be nerfed out off PVP or will die in one year
not saying to anyone in particular i had a friend like that , he player all the new (and now defunct ) “EVE killers “
That would be perfectly fine. I would’ve simply avoided playing EVE from the beginning if that were the case, instead of playing it anyway, and complaining about the game mechanic for 20 years.
I do PVE very often. Everytime I salvage the miners wreck. I do it after CCPs last communicate about ganking. Gankers make their money by salvaging wrecks, so do I.
During my salvaging PVE activity an infuriated miner came back in a Kikimora to fight me in non consensual PVP! When I salvage my wrecks I do not want any PVP interaction. Hopefully some GM reads it and fix this problem.
No topic is relevant in the forums unless it is pre-arranged between a GM and some CSM. Do not forget to bring some nullsec alliance members to fill the comment section.
I don’t invade game communities and start making demands for the games to be changed to cater to my tastes and whims. I simply find games that are right for me, and play them.
