An Open Letter to CCP from Current and Former CSM Members on the "Prospector Pack"

I thoroughly agree…

CCP has constantly been moving the bar, WHen they first implemented Skill INjectors, they said “We will never sell generated Skill points, only skill points that are earned in game and extracted. This is a line we will never cross.” Naysayers like yourself defended them. Then they started selling Skill Points.

CCP then said “We will never sell ships”. Then they started selling destroyers to New players, naysayesr again defended them… only a once off purchase, you can only buy it once as a brand new player, and you got a destroyer as part of login rewards anyway, and as reward for finishing missions etc. so the bar moved.

CCP then said “We will never sell fitted ships that aren’t available to new players easily anyway”. Now they are selling a retriever.

Watch as they come out “we will never sell combat ships or XX ships” give it 12-18 months.

I don’t remember them saying any of that stuff but I’ve been away for years. I’ll take your word for it. I just wonder if there’s a discrepancy between what CCP have said and the perceived “line” that the OP says they’ve crossed.

“Everything is directed at big blobs of caps and supercaps”

Wtf are you even on, CCP has done nothing but nerf, and try to discourage cap use over and over.

I don’t think you have any idea at all how plex works. CCP makes more money from people plexing accounts, not less.

It might be a bit complicated legal-wise at this moment, but I could get behind the Oligarch Package: an Erebus fitted with festival launchers, plus pilot, minus jump capability. It can putter around Luminaire with unique Ibiza-theme skin. Price: one meeeeelllion dollars. It should probably be indestructible to be sure nobody ends up with a pair of radioactive underpants.

Maybe ccp can sell us a uninstall package next.

As someone who mines and does production and doesn’t like the idea of having players being able to bypass the economy. An economy which CCP has repeatedly ■■■■■■ over the last 6-8 years of the game. Which makes me wonder if it was intentional.

Yes CCP, a corporation whose sole purpose is to make money, let’s add real-world financial incentives that allow whales to bypass the player economy. A financial incentive to make the economy really oppressive to encourage players to reach for their wallets.

I don’t always post on the forums, but when I do, it tends to be because of something awful.

Thanks Brisc for doing Words better than I do; this is an absolutely reprehensible decision in a game where your choices are supposed to mean something and your actions in game add to the economic chain in a sensible way - where things are created, not just spontaneously generated through throwing real money at them.

Even if you plex your way to a Titan, someone had to build it first - at least for now. If that changes, the game is truly dead. Hopefully this is nipped in the bud before it goes any further, but I worry, considering how things have progressed thus far.

Signed, absolutely furious with this pack, as I was with the destroyer packs even though they were one offs, and still am at the mere existence of skill injectors.

CCP get rid of this pack immediately. Do not sell ships. Do not sell SP.

I logged in to support this message.

It’s a slippery slope, and CCP has slowly been rolling down it.

not going to lie i mentioned these packs over 2 years ago they would get out of control and here we are.
CCP just want as much money out of the playerbase before everyone gets fed up and unsubs from eve and stops pouring money into it.

Only way CCP would change anything in a meaningful way is if people stopped logging in and stopped playing in protest. But that won’t happen.
