An Open Letter to CCP from Current and Former CSM Members on the "Prospector Pack"

-SP Packs are 1 time buys
-Buying plex for isk can only be done by trading with someone who has made isk in game to buy it
-This pack can be bought multiple times spawning in a ship from thin air, going against one of the core aspects of eve : Everything is made by players that then supports a player driven economy. Why would you make retrievers when someone can get 30 days of Omega and a fully fit retriever.

it crosses the line as that ship that they are selling just poped out of no where, no player had any time invested into making, moving and then selling that ship making them ship its self valueless. meaning that if this goes on market value for ships that you can just buy for real $$$ are just going to to drop making building any ship a worthless endeavor.

Co sign.

New players can already just buy SP to skip learning the game and time requirements.

I only see one drawback and that’s that it creates the ship from thin air competing with indy guys.

So can’t CCP just buy the ship back from the market each time a pack is sold?

Got my vote, this is not good CCP

The disconnect between CCP management and their customers is vast, and just keeps getting worse. I hear CCP interviews on DoW etc, and i think “maybe they actually do have the games best interest at heart”…? but no.

-There are a lot of packs right now that give SP, haven’t bought those so I’m not sure if they’re a one time only thing. If they are you can just buy PLEX and then Injectors from the market. Yeah players produce those but they still help skip training times.
-That’s true. Still skips farming ISK to buy anything.
-So all CCP needs to do is buy a Retriever from the market each time they sell their ship pack.

this could not fix it and even then prices would still be messed up.

The long and short of it is buying ships for real $$$ is bad in every way and should be stoped as fast as possible

-Its a one time buy
-IMO its a necessary evil, so people can sub their accounts freely
-No it fucks with the economy, it shouldnt be in the game

-You can buy as much SP as you want with ISK. And get as much ISK as you want by buying PLEX.
-You sub your account freely but a new player has to have bought that PLEX to begin with.
-No it wouldn’t if they buy the ship and modules from the market. You can already skip the game to do the same with PLEX and SP.

It would be a lot easier if they would just not sell fitted ships in the first place. I am not planning on spending any time or effort trying to help them polish this turd into something “acceptable” to the player base, sorry.

They have left potential millions of dollars in positive monetization on the table that players have been begging for - they can easily do a few of those things and make far more money and help far more players than this pack will.

Most players I know run multiple accounts and GLADLY throw money at the game. No one wants this game to last another 19 years like we do. We make RL friends, across borders and oceans.

CCP has forgotten its roots. No one expects perfect. But we do expect to get our monies worth. They have gotten comfortable and complacent. And have now begun acting like they are owed our cash instead of earning.

Very EA of them

This act of monetization is another step closer to making a game that is revered and loved for it’s unique gameplay, economy, and community another forgettable title that will simply wither and die. The chance to truly expand and build off of one of the most iconic and special licenses will be tossed aside to cater to a demographic with no loyalty or attention span.
