I’ve read too many salty bitterbear comments, like @Arrendis calling them “liars”, and it’s a bit much. I like CCP, and I’m generally happy with my EvE Online experience. I think CCP devs are working hard to improve the game, and they don’t deserve the toxic abuse. There isn’t some evil megalomaniac ‘Korean’ conspiracy to price gouge everyone. Anyone who really thinks that needs to calm down and take a break.
I’d be the first to join the protest if CCP banned ganking in highsec…despite being an ‘anti-ganker’.
It’s far better that the ganking issue is resolved via roleplay and content, than by nerfs or buffs. Gankers vs AG is content…and is the players themselves.
Highsec would be utterly boring without ganking. It would be full of all those P2W Retrievers sitting there for months on end…not even Dante’s Inferno could capture such a living hell.
Yeah we’re all generally happy with the game. That’s why we’re still here. Two days ago I shot my carrier at other people’s capitals and hacs, I had fun doing that.
But that doesn’t mean we are blind to what CCP is doing and the direction they are taking the game in – and that we agree with it.
No, CCP already has an unlimited supply of PLEX to sell to players, CCP don’t need any more. It’s just values they can overwrite themselves in the database. Digital goods and all that.
This is not the problem.
Now that I’m beginning to see the bigger picture of the broken player economy, I’m also becoming more convinced that many players have been way too harsh on individual CCP developers.
The latecomers at CCP have inherited a gradually growing ■■■■■■■■■■■ that took years of time in the making.
This ■■■■ won’t be fixed by removing poor store offers such as the latest one (though it would help a little). Solving this will be tough, if not impossible.
Assuming a little good will in all parties, these guys have my sympathy.
While I disagree with the sale of ships direct from CCP for obvious reasons, at the same time, its very hard for new players trying to get into this game. Have you seen how long it takes to train to get into some basic T2 ships?
Today is very different from 10-15 years ago. Younger people expect faster gratification and I’m willing to bet most get bored of Eve due to the very long training queues. My new recruit logged off and said he’d be back in 2 weeks, when he can fly a covert ops…
Will he come back… Maybe…
