[ARC] Consortium status update

Well what do you know, Arataka Research Consortium’s members are still engaging in combat operations in Republic space, under Imperial loyalist banners. Verifiable via public feeds, ARC providing combat support for offensive combat operations seems to still be the case, even after this ‘status update’. Figures. I really should stop giving people the benefit of doubt. It never pans out.

Intentional or not, ARC does seem to go out of its way to act as Imperial combat support and enemies of the Tribes.

Can you send me the refs?

Take your time, not like this is urgent. But at some point.

Ah, Omad flew with Arsia again?

Winds. If that’s your criteria for your hellwar shenanigans, I’m surprised you’ve not tried to call out MantelGlobalIndustries and war on HEICON, or declared on Diana Kim and Templis, and gone full pseudo-factional warfare.

That said, I’ll talk with him.

They don’t claim to be neutral. That’s the thing. They’re publicly in the CalAmarrian camp.

I don’t imagine anyone’s intending to keep a war going with ARC with SFRIM gone, but this is presumably about standings, and how one views ARC.

Ms. Kernher? Please kindly don’t presume to declare ARC’s diplomatic and political stances.

As you wish.

Thank you.

For better or worse, ‘CalAmarri’ tends to make people think we’ve unified cause with the Newelles and Kims of the cluster, and that’s about as far from the truth as possible.

Then perhaps don’t have your members fly under some of the most ardent Sarumites in the cluster, conducting offensive combat operations in Republic space. If you don’t have a unified cause with them, one probably shouldn’t be shoulder to shoulder with them on the battlefield. If you’re not CalAmarri, that should be more apparent from your actions than your words.

Edit: I thank you for invoking “hellwar”, but I am afraid that’s pretty much an impossibility from my side. I would refer to Arrendis or others who’ve been at receiving (and giving) ends of actual hellwars, and let them clarify why they’re quite impossible without several hundred capsuleers at your disposal at an absolute minimum.

The term was used ironically.

Is that really the part you should be focused on?

Does ARC claim to be neutral in the fighting between the empires?

Ms. Del’thul, you’re well practiced at moving goalposts and ignoring or bending the truth to suit your needs. Even Arrendis doesn’t bother dueling with you because of that. Why even credit you with an argument on that basis?

Ms. Culome; yes. This isn’t to say it isn’t fraught, as ‘independence’ and ‘neutrality’ are themselves considered political stances. Our policy, which wasn’t a problem until these recent months, was that ARC would as much as possible avoid entanglements in the pendulum wars or in overtly partisan matters. Pilots were and are generally encouraged to fly with whomever they wish, so long as it doesn’t result in political issues, because ARC doesn’t generate combat fleets outside of Hive operations and the occasional other action. Entertainingly, we ended up KOS in Providence several times because pilots were on NPSI fleets through the area, which was an issue when Utari Onzo was still with CVA and wanted to join Hive operations.

Unfortunately, this policy that amounted to ‘fly with friends, don’t get into trouble’ ran into a problem when SFRIM, on account of Ms. Del’thul’s now eleven-month-long war caused SFRIM leadership to encourage pilots to fly with PIE regularly.

In any case, this is largely resolved. I’ve sent a note to Omad.

I see. So the organization is neutral, but doesn’t stop pilots from engaging on behalf of one side or another. Is it just the one pilot, then, or have other ARC pilots taken similar action in favor of other factions?

See but that’s not how it works.

Honestly, IKAME’s jokingly referred to as a retirement home. A lot of our pilots don’t engage in terribly much combat activity, so it’s all been sporadic enough that I don’t really think it registers.

Ms. Rhiannon; but, you see, it is. We regularly fly alongside MinMil in our Hive operations, and have recruited from GMVA. The issue is that ‘trying to be relatively non-entangled’ runs into the desire for binary, simple, bloody determinations.

Very simply, if I could, I’d gut the EMWPA rules because of the damage they’ve done to cross-border cooperation. Winds, not too long ago Caldari and Matari naval personnel held a summit to discuss joint trade-lane security. Not that you’d know it, given EMWPA.

… so, why did you say I shouldn’t ‘declare ARC’s position’, when what I was saying is ARC’s position?

Because what you said is the exact opposite of what I said.

You realize she was talking about HEICON and Templis, right?

Oh.

Apologies. I’d read that as talking about ARC.

I said people and groups like Edwards, or Kim, or HEICON, don’t claim to be neutral, while ARC does claim it. Hence why your question of why people don’t call out those groups doesn’t fly. There’s no need to call out people that are publicly partisan. ARC is not. Ergo, that is why ARC attracts accusations of partisan behavior, because of your neutral stance.

Edit: Apology accepted.
