Most of my irl friend see eve as a game of numbers and they’re just too dumb to understand it( that’s what they said) and head for the fps
Yh finding someone who I can trust in eve is hard
Really hard…
Harder with my crappy laptop :frowning:

yup.
this is true.
however you can trust that people that make things explode,
will in all likelihood continue to make things explode
so if you want to have fun go have fun, you may need to make new frenimies along the way but thats sort of what this is about.

How long does it usually take to scan down a signature? Many times when I watch new players, this eats up a TON of time. Once it becomes a bit routine you can scan down a site in a minute or two and already know if its a good one to hack, and then move on to the next sig/system.

Took me like 5 for one
I mostly just get my probe in pin point formation
And set at 8 AU first
Then I’ll get down to 4AU
Base on my 1 month experience the sign that near a sun or at the edge of the system usually a wh
Near a gas planet or a typical planet with belt tend to have gas site
Data and relic are random
If a sig is near my bookmark, in the 4AU range I usually skip it cuz that’s my entrance wh
So after at 4AU I’ll pick a sig I think it might be the one I looking for and start to narrow down to 2AU
1AU and so on until I get the info about the site

Lol. Everything you mentioned is grinding.

100% correct.

Definitely well said.

In hindsight… you are probably right…

Though what is not grinding, then? Even social engineering could be called a form of grinding…

Not every playstile even requires a Billion ISK ever. Because the ships one size bigger often cost 5 to 10 times more your need for ISK heavily depends on what you want to fly. I don’t like the clumsy ships above cruiser size and have a blast fighting in bombers and T3 destroyers.

These small ships are getting expensive thou xD 300mil Assualt frig doctrine’s, 150mil command destroyer’s and dictor’s. A billion isk doesn’t really get you that far these day’s tbh, uness your flying navy frig’s which seem to be really good cost wise.

There’s an old Scottish saying, and I paraphrase: “The worst thing you can say at a man’s funeral is he died with no enemies.”

Anyone can have friends. It’s more important in life to have the right enemies.

More powerful enemies means faster funeral tho.

I suppose one just have to be stronk and cunning. :ok_hand:
ISK helps too.

From a movie I watch long time ago

It’s also a matter of integrity. When I pick a side to join a competition, my question is always this: “Which side is the weaker?” Thanks. I’ll join them. That applies to paint-balling, cricket, karate, 5-a-side-soccer, anything I’ve competed in to this day. Joining the weaker side that wins is glorious. Joining the stronger side that wins is embarrassing and guilt-ridden.

Weaker side doesnt win. Weaker side loses. Stronger side wins. If you win, you fought on the stronger side that wins and you should be ashamed of yourself, they fooled you by pretending to be weak. Should have joined the opposition if you want to fight on weaker side.

Hmmmm not quite.
That’s the impression that’s left after a victory certainty but often not the reality of it.

We (devils) have at no point been stronger than pirat or marmite in or wars in the last 5ish years yet we’ve won plenty.
Lost plenty too but still.

There’s no need to be stronger to win, nor for strength to even factor if you know how to leverage your skills.

Knowing your skills, and what you are capable of is not everything. You wrote that you fought and you won, but you also lose, that is not unusual when you dont know enemy, and to know enemy is a skill maybe even more important, because you know when to fight and who, to win.

If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.

Where to find real strength? I think its in the books.

And now we are into semantics,
Martial strength / strength of will / strength of skill / strength of numbers and so on.
I see and I take your point that victory will be taken by the better
but I must say its folly to assume this proves them the stronger party.

If a guerilla war is won against a foe with stronger numbers, they’re still the stronger of the two despite the loss, And that strength needs to be recognised and accounted for in future engagements regardless of your capability.

Well, lets just say that strength is not in numbers when you know how to divide. :smirk:

Same with ISK, I think if you have a lot, its easier to get rid of it very fast, than to gain it back.

Can confrim that loosing ISK is very easy.
