I’m not sure what kind of world you live in but companies usually take calculated risks. Some pay off, some don’t. Think of all the time and work that went into DUST 514. Where is it now? It died harder than it lived. They are giving it another go with Vanguard. Fine, I don’t care for it personally but good luck CCP. Im not going to take it away from those who enjoy it.
All I see from your clip is that the old CQ would not be compatible with the current setup…fine, so rebuild it. That is what programmers do.
If you don’t want CQ, fine…don’t use it. But no need to deny everyone who does want it a chance at it. What is there to lose on your part?
for 3% of oll players ? xD why should CCP invest 6-8 month for 3% of their player ? thats no risk … thats waste ! they cant profit they only can lose …
if ccp wastes your recources then all player have lost …
CQ isnt an improvement to the game ! wasnt … will never be …
i see youre out of arguments for your own idea ? xD
btw … i dont kill noobs in a “fair” duell … i only can lose at this point ! i´m either the asshole who killed a noob or i´m the one who loses against a noob "
btw … is there anything else you will bring why your idea would improve the game ?
No one cares if it’s too much work for CCP. They have nothing else to work on other than EVE. “Too much work” is just a gas-lighting attempt from CCP to distract from their general lack of competence. That’s just how it is.
This is false. The toggle was available right away.
To be fair, we don’t know this for sure, so let’s not presume to speak for the company of which we aren’t employees. There could be reasons we aren’t aware of, and reasons that CCP is unwilling or unable to talk about in the little information about this they put out in blogs.
CQ was developed when the Carbon engine was brand-new. These days, it’s possible to grab some kind of off-the-shelf solution to make CQ possible with a considerably smaller amount of effort compared to when game development suites and asset pack licenses weren’t on the market the way they are today. They don’t have to use the same technology that powers the character creator for this.
I support CQ because it seems to be a feature that would create some degree of hype for the game without relying on changing fundamental game mechanics to capture or recapture segments of the player demographic. It’s not, like, turning off high-sec PvP in order to entice a bunch of people who just want to mine in peace to try/come back to the game. Because of how “neutral” a feature like CQ is, I think it’s worth pursuing to at least some degree.
You mean useless stuff like Photon or the industry changes that have caused so many issues? You must be out of your mind if you think that CCP would develop good stuff if they “don’t waste their time and money” on actually cool stuff like the CQ.
It’s just part of a wider effort to make stations accessible for a comprehensive experience, as demonstrated in the EVE Forever trailer. You can have social gatherings in stations, you can use stations for warfare, espionage and sneak attacks, you can have missions in stations just like you have them in space. You can have all kinds of gameplay experiences tying into EVE in stations, on planets and in space. The possibilities lending themselves from all kinds of sci-fi movies (SW, ST, Jupiter Ascending, Valerian, Firefly and so on) are endless.
And what of all you count they have implemented ? Nothing. As they implemented citadells is can remember they habe said something about agets on your citadells … they are now how old ? 7 years ? And nothing is happen … im sure they dont bring any update with such stuff… no gane improvent for lot of work and maybe its not possible because of spaghetti code !
On the other hand, if CCP would finally implement a Meatsicle Trophy Room, where you can keep all the corpses you collected, created, bought, extorted, borrowed, dressed, chatted with etc. I’d say YES.
Else, nah.
The walk around aspect with the dynamic lighting etc just ate resources, and apparently was also a real burden in the maintenance.
Maybe one day they could create a choice of structure/station interior, the ship hangar as it is today, and an interior view of a “captain’s quarters” with news screen + PI interface (as it used to be), coffee table, ship hologram (I miss that), sofa, but without the walking.
