I Operate with Alts in 17 High sec regions, medium scale, not realted to me. First thing i go to do, is stop the action in 13-14 of that regions and unsubscribe. The game will be more empty if more people do the same, but is not business.

Second. I already downsize the number of accounts to play , currently thinking in get to three only because Me + hauler + Special Projects. This is less accounts needed to do market because market is less operations for region. The Economic report will be marvelous.

Thinking in today Omega seven of my accounts to extract them and sell the injectors without stupid rules. Then seven accounts less to think.

Really this si not Worksheets in the space, is the ribbon Key / metro bar of excel . Only the dumbest of my real wok users use ribbon/metro. The people working is office 2013 because the shortcuts / interface.

by the way red dot is the new Clippy.

EVE is risky and nasty and bad stuff happens. Take away the risk and you minimise the reward.

I never heard of this scam before and almost fell for it the other day btw. and I have been playing since 2007.

It was a deal too good to be true so I waited to ask people more experienced in trading and contracts that me and avoided trouble.

I think this change is pretty much desastrous. The Market is more or less the beating heart of EVE-Online and the last change+ this change are really crippling the Market. I personally enjoy a lot of trading and made a little fortune with it. But when this change goes life it will mean pretty much death for all my market-activities. Furthermore I am almost 100% sure that this change will trow the PLEX-prices into an absolut chaos.
Please CCCP cancel this update/change

Man if CCP were an in game player organization we would murder these fools (in game). They are clueless simpletons they wouldnā€™t survive more than a few weeks. If they actually had to try to out think and /or outmaneuver players oof.

Having done some math (to the best of my meager ability:), I noticed that the adjusted charges are not linear, as a fraction of the profit margin - but get steeper as the margin gets smaller.

For instance, assuming perfect market skills off a 3% station:

  1. with a minimum change made on an item with a 100% profit margin, you pay ~1.5% of that margin per adjustment.
  2. at 50% profit margin, you pay ~2.25% per adjustment.
  3. at 20% profit margin, you pay ~4.5% per adjustment.
  4. at 10% profit margin, you pay ~8.25% per adjustment.
  5. etc

Was this exponential progression the desired effect of the new formula?

Also, regarding your assertion that this will have negligible impact on the market, as ā€˜94% of market orders never get changed at allā€™ - on the face of it, this is facile and i believe not a usefully accurate expression of the reality.
I think the truth is more likely that 94% of all market items see almost no trade whatsoever, and that most market activity is generated from competition over a much smaller percentage of all market items. Iā€™d be interested to know how you arrived at these figures.

Also also, I think that the changes to margin trading will disproportionately affect smaller traders, who simply canā€™t compete against those trillionaires whose pockets are SO much deeper. These folks can afford to use their vast wealth to corner markets, squeezing out poorer players.

Yes, but EVE is supposed to be risky because other players are trying to wreck your stuff, not because thereā€™s an obscure interaction that exploits poor interface design. The margin trading scam was 100% dependent on exploiting trust that the interface is in fact providing true information and would never have worked otherwise, and its removal from the game is long overdue.

Whats the best investment tho? I have some ISK.

This is so unbelievably ****ing stupid. Where do you think the ISK to buy a PLEX from you comes from? At some point someone has to be making ISK, your theory that CCP wants to block all income sources is tinfoil hat nonsense.

lol wut?

Seems like yaā€™ll took a handful of worst posts in market discussions and implemented them as features

I agree with your statement re big-time vs smaller traders. I think that those with deeper pockets will be able to corner markets more easily.

CCP could do better.
Thankfully there are creative people who play this game too!

Yeah if i had the choice to buy from Larry Sanders at 1,000 or botty mcbotface undercutting larry by 1 cent every five minutes, I would gladly choose Larry the human.

Game is preparing for pay2win mate.

The precision thing is interesting as for most orders u canā€™t 0.1 isk anymore it will be in 100, 1000 ā€¦ isk increments now (depending on the itemā€™s normal cost range).

But to fight botting/automation why not just add a challenge/response mechanic to changing order price?

example: a market security agent window pops up and asks you a question with 2-3 possible answers. A human can handle it in a second a Bot would be defeated.

Now before the hate letters start rolling in (lol) this mechanic can be situational. Each character has a number in the server which keeps track of how many order changes are done per time period. whether u see this challenge or not, is based on how high that number is so that; casual users wonā€™t see it at all, people who do 10 a minute will see it every single time.

They can add a lore component as well. we have the Secure Exchange Commission that oversees trade. now they can actually use the ā€˜Secureā€™ part of their name. With certain systems or stations (yes Jita I am looking at You) where the SCC is conducting searches for these pesky invading AI pranksters. and this can be turn on/off by ccp.

There are unlimited cool things a mechanic like this under CCP control (and player ā€˜influenceā€™) could do.

Because even when it isnā€™t a bot itā€™s still a stupid way of doing things. An adjustment of less than 0.01% of the price of an item (what the new system will permit) is absolutely irrelevant to the manufacturer or the end user, thereā€™s no reason for such a tiny change to have any effect. It just favors tedious manipulation of irrelevant numbers instead of things like optimizing your supply chain to make a better profit on the same sale price or selling outside of the major market hubs to exploit local demand.

Quote from the blog: ā€œThese changes will positively impact the market, and better support fair competitive trade between playersā€

Which of course is just an assumption and these changes might actually backfire big time.

It is 4 (1/100 of percent = 1/10000).
