You claimed that the bots would not be affected by this change, which is jut plain stupidity.
Then you claim that since they are bots, they will always be at an advantage vs human players (which is true), so it’s not worth making this advantage less important because this advantage will always be non null (which is BS).
Also you claimed that since CCP does not find a magical cure that removes 100% of the bots, then they are actually encouraging the bots (which is BS again).
Well, one could hope that CCP would actually develop and test this feature thoroughly. But then again, we are talking about CCP. A company where even some UI changes can trigger an aneurysm in the server infrastructure.
Have I claimed that they should find a 100 % cure? Mind pointing it out? I can’t find that passage. What I claim is that CCP should not introduce more tedium for humans. Nothing more, nothing less.
So far you are the only person churning out salt like a salt mine. You should take a deep breath once in a while, that red head of your’s looks very unhealthy.
What you claimed is any modification can be taken advantage of by bots more than by human(which is wrong), and that therefore any modification that does not completely removes the bots actually helps the bots (which is also wrong).
no, U.
You should STFU and read what you actually wrote once in a while, this amount of stupidity should not be allowed.
Considering all the flaws in the contract system (newly introduced limited data visibility, contracts not adhering to security limiters, contract types using the same sorting orders despite CCs and IEs being different types and menu pages, etc), I respectfully disagree. But keep on trying comparing contracts to the market.
I have provided numerous examples on how it is true what I said. The only counters from you are the two letters “BS”. I also never said anywhere that a modification should remove 100% of the bots. Where ever you take that from is purely in your personal fictitious thought bubble. Not even removing anonymity from the market removes all bots. What it does is remove tedium from the game and it allows for actual “intelligent choices”, as opposed to anything you and CCP keep on rambling about.
Can I have more of that salt of yours? It is actually of very good quality and goes very well with my breakfast egg today. I am all out of salt, though. Can I have some more from you?
There is no more intelligent choice than before, the number 1 goal for order placing was and is, that your order sells/buys. Your initial price decision may be “intelligent”, but worthless unless your order trades in full within the next 90 days. How to make profit by placing orders (that trade) with the new rules is an algorithm, which once written down and programmed can be used by everyone.
May claim: there is an algorithm and it will be easier to follow it by bots than humans.
If there would be no working trade algorithm to make profits (very unlikely) than trade is just gambling.
The problem with market it that it is
a) easy to manage, the steps are few, and easy to bot
b) no user interference, you can’t disrupt an existing order except playing the game by the same rules
Especially b) is not given with other game activities, which can be botted.
Updating your order to set it to highest order -0.01 is a dumb move.
Removing dumb move means there will more intelligent moves, in proportion, which is what “more interest into intelligent choices” means.
BS.
Before, there was an algorithm that was the most efficient assuming people’s time was free : 0.01isk.
Now, there will be several algorithms. One for each person.
Thank you sherlock. Bots are always better than human at following algorithms, that’s what they are done for.
It’s like you discover that going by car is faster than going by foot.
Lol. Sure if you make an optimization algorithm, and implement it, and share it, then anybody can use it . But it also means that people will consider it when doing their own, and thus it will not be optimal anymore.
True that CCP has to do what PA says, and if this is a PA push to convert EVE into a more ‘microtransaction-driven’ game, that CCP won’t be able to fight it if PA won’t budge. Hopefully, then, that this is simply another idiotic decision by CCP instead of forced from above.
I see that our resident ‘beat-down-all-other-posters’ troll has decided to try to frustrate you out of the thread via endless arguments of no substance. As you can see by their response, your post is of substance, while the counter ‘argument’ is nothing but contrarian with a little dressing to try to make it look otherwise.
I’ve positioned my ‘market stance’ so that I can watch and see without going broke. The initial ‘pre-change’ market set-ups are probably not a good indicator of what’s coming over the next 3 months. But based on communication in-game and out-of-game with so many other folks that manufacture and trade, things are going to bleed badly.
I suppose it will make room for PA/CCP microtransactions, but I don’t see the much of the player base transitioning to that kind of idiocy.
I sold all my manufactured stuff off, over the last 2 weeks. All gone.
I have lots of plex.
Do you think it’s better to unsubscribe my account before or after the update, to show maximum displeasure with this piece of paying-customer-annoying idiocy?
Yes, if CCP does not state it, it’s impossible that it will happen. Whatever CCP says, it’s always accurate. I repeat whatever the flavour term of the moment is when I make my arguments, today it’s “intelligent choices” Meh… The world according to Anderson.
Mark my words. When CCP sees the effect of the relisting markup killing the market - their biggest ISK sink in the entire game - creating inflation in the process - they will lessen it considerably again. I don’t know where you are going to go hide in shame after realising CCP will admit some of us were right and you, instead, have gone over 500 posts white-knighting them. But it’s gonna be fun to watch.
@Rheinhard_Kurtz
As you convert into plex , you 'll have the issue the day you 'll need isks to buy something in the market .
That means your plex are already stuck till next time they reach their actual price + 30% at least
If I were you , I’ll wait and watch the market , they might have some good bargain
especially on blocked SO orders that could crash one product .
At the beginning of this change , things should be very volatile before reaching a form of stability .
Normally the question for a trader before this change should be :
have a liquid wallet ( all in isk to take advantage of any crashes )
all in asset
a mixed of both
For myself , these changes will lead to a bear market so isk is the way to go : 1)
but I have some asset like plex ( always usefull) so 3)
