Bumping needs a suspect status penalty

So if a Stabber bumps an Orca into a Venture so that the Venture dies, the Stabber gets a suspect flag and the Orca gets CONCORDOKKEN?

I’m sure there is no way to abuse that!

no cause of orca vector will not match it’s heading. idea is to give suspect/concord flag only if vector matches heading of the ship.

This will be great for autopiloting ships.

Hope CCP implement this change. Nothing could go wrong.

… and their vector. Hence, bumping works by putting ships out of alignment. Just as mining ships can also get hung up on rocks and so can’t escape in a hurry.

So if I bump but change my vector before the collision I won’t get a flag?

I think autopilot should be removed

good luck trying to do that while at 3k m/s. you can’t drift in eve. if you change your vector you won’t hit your target at all. also remember heading is accounted too.

In case you haven’t noticed, ships need time to adjust speed and direction. Something to do with the agility of the ship.

If I bump your ship in a cruiser with oversized MWD I can turn my intended direction 180 degrees and still bump you.

that doesn’t change your vector mostly you still can be detected as agressor by speed/vector

Are we talking about the intended direction of the ship or about the actual direction of the ship?

There is a difference.

As the actual direction of the ship can be changed by getting bumped (if someone bumps your Orca your Orca gets a directional vector), I was assuming this is not the vector we were talking about. Because if we were, someone could bump your Orca and your Orca would get a vector into a Venture and get a suspect flag for bumping with an actual direction vector.

So you must gave been talking about the intended vector of a ship, the one you get when you give your ship a movement order. And not about the ships actual vector.

As ships, especially overpropped ships are slow in following orders, you can easily change intended vector without immediate effect on the actual directional vector.

So no, it won’t work.

easily avoidable and detectable … machine can keep record if orca had any movement commands towards the venture+it’s previous heading

i once bumped into an asteroid and flew at 5km/s…i honestly dont think he used a module to bump people really fast

Your solution is in front of you. Have a fleet mate ready to scoop drones. Then abandon them, scoop them up and warp away.

“Solution: Orbit the rock, turn on your propmod and stop getting your ship bumped.”

Tried this didn’t work

Removed some rule breaking posts. Keep it civil, thanks.

As a bumper I’m completely in favor of this request.

You are my favored type of conte… player

Alternatively, have you tried purchasing a mining permit from your local New Order Agent? They are only 10mil ISK per year.

They just need to add an “anchor” to exhumers, not orca.

The anchor would prevent being bumped off the asteroid, but it would also take X seconds to un-achor, meaning the risk of gank goes up in the balance.

/facepalm You do realize the point is to stay in one place and mine right?

Yes I realize that. But my comment was in regards to being bumped infinitely, where as now, you warp away after 3 minutes of being bumped.

Mining needs a suspect status penalty…
