probably like John Cena running into Big Show
While I get your point, I can see it now. Bump the mining ship and watch it spin around the roid like a fidget!
That’s an interesting idea. Why not arrange for the orca to be the anchor, via Star Trek strength tractor beams?
You could muck about with the fitting requirements and come up with some cross-over risk-reward scenarios. Orca might have to have a Higgs rig fitted first, for its own stability. Then, because it was “projecting” up to four hyper-strength tractor beams, to anchor ships, it would lose its drone bandwith so it could no longer defend itself? Or mine. It could only be a tanked, command/ anchor mothership?
Co-operative ship spinning at last!
Imagine a few well coordinated miners (alts) orbiting the roid and one gets bumped into another!

I make jest of the concept to make sure we look at it from all angles.
Other than working out a reasonable anchoring mechanism, no one seems to have found much fault with it yet.
Edit; And what happens when the target depletes?

Then stop using augmented drones, use T2…there is your counterplay!
I did use T2 and these guys still bump us. Doesn’t matter if I change systems they follow us around and keep harssing us every single day no matter where we are.
And there is no counter play against it if someone has decided to harass you as much as they can.
Because the Orca’s primary role is as a command ship. The fact that it can drone mine is a design mistake.
So, anchoring secondary ships would be a way of “commanding their position”. And, giving the orca the ability to do that, but in return for loss of its mining drones (as suggested) should be a win win for you?
I would say that is something separate, for this issue it is like a poison pill.
The ONLY reason that bumping mining ships is even an issue is because of new players. One of the key new player roles is mining, solo.
An Orca is not a new player ship and so for them the fix for bumping is teamwork. Also when the Orca is performing its correct role being bumped doesn’t really interfere.
I put a Higs rig on my Orca, now when they bump i my go 10km to 12km at most from the roid.
So now it is just like a fly buzzing around… I laugh and its amusing to watch them try then get bored and leave.
Shouldn’t lose your drones without the perp being shootable though.
