Bumping

Ok, i’ve understood, you have absolutely no clue of what you are talking about. My bad.

There’s never a shortage of idiots, both IG and IRL. That’s what makes it possible for any competent hauler to be 99.99% assured of not getting ganked. If 100% of haulers made the same choices as the ones that don’t get ganked then gankers would evolve their tactics to compensate for people taking responsibility for their own safety; ganking and not getting ganked being an arms race when mechanics or the meta changes.

In Eve your safety is your responsibility, not getting ganked is mostly down to how you approach the game. Knowledge is power, sometimes the only way to acquire knowledge is to learn from your enemies and from your mistakes; the hard part for some people is admitting they made a mistake in the first place.

That’s exactly why I say you can’t 100% evade the gank : you RELY on someone else to be ganked instead of you, which means it’s a competition to be “just below what can be ganked”. With the loser losing either his ship, or his time (which nobody has an infinite amount).
so in a theorical world everybody could escape gank ; in reality, people have time constraints and can’t always wait for another idiot to shield them.

Sure, because the most juicy one is always the idiot. There are as many potential idiots as there are people flying (jump) freighters.
Even empty JFs are ganked
Rhea | Gav Garsk | Killmail | zKillboard this one has double wrap but still he had no value.(besides the collateral)
Rhea | Baltazario | Killmail | zKillboard

on that day, the idiot was naked.

Nope, idiots, while handy, aren’t what people rely on to not get ganked.
Generally our wits, our knowledge, good fits, actually being at the keyboard and not making foolish decisions are what we rely on; all the stuff that the useful idiots don’t do.

Dont take it to heart. Im sure you are a wonderful person once they get to know you. (Editted as requested by the automated system)

This thread is going places.

Yes, this is exactly what I was answering to.

if you want to be sure to not get ganked 100%, the only way is to find someone else that will get ganked instead of you. Of course, that is, considering you have something to move and you are limited in time - if you are a bot and can afford to jump back to safety whenever there are thaloses on dscan and a logi on grid, it’s a different story.

Considering that the technology behind the PEG that powers every ship we fly, bumping does not result in any damage as the PEG would cause two ships that have the same technology to repel from each other due to the way the PEG interacts with space.

Amarr ships have spiky structures on their front side that use to deal serious damage back in the early days of the Amarr Empire when understanding of the PEG was either extremely limited or not yet reached. Since their implementation on Amarr ships, the spiky structures are now nothing more than hood ornaments since an Abaddon simply can’t ram into another ship as it will just be pushed away when it gets too close to another ship. And since every ship throughout New Eden uses this technology to power everything from capacitor recharge to warp travel and even stargates and stations, which explains why stations can’t orbit… at all, ramming into things will not cause damage.

You would have to literally turn off the PEG to make ramming cause damage again but then you’ll either be out of a power source or you’ll be physically stuck in space if all but 1 of the 6 PEGs installed are deactivated.

I hate those guys.

Ok, i repeat : Jump freighter, cyno alt in range, 100%. Do you want me to explain how?

You can definitely 100% avoid ganking in a freighter.

Yup, fly a Transport instead…

You can 100% avoid being ganked in a freighter if you outsource the process to a third-party hauler, they take all the risk, you can set a collateral that turns you a profit if the cargo is ganked or stolen and they are quite cheap in comparison to the cargo value and collateral.

by remaining docked, we all know that.

Use a 3rd party service.Alot of older players don’t want to be bothered with having to haul stuff so they pay others. It’s how hauling services became popular there’s demand for it

I don’t need it. I never lost anything when hauling. Just I don’t say I can’t lose anything 100% .

I had a guy lose a jf hauling my stuff . Of course I got my collateral and that’s that -a jf and 12 bil to lose isn’t very enjoyable so you can say I passed it along to someone else

Once again, if you don’t screw, make the right choices at the right time, with a jump freighter and a cyno alt in range on the ready you can have a 100% success rate. There’s only one sensible situation, when it jumps through a gate in highsec. You do this when no one is around, even if you have to wait days, with you cyno alt ready in range. It simple, it can be a pain in the ass but it works 100%. Above all, please please please, do not use a Jump Freighter as Freighter.

Once again, that is only true if you have infinite time. Which NOBODY got.
When you have a contract to freight, and a limited number of hours per day, “if you have to wait days” is not an option.
This is the same reasoning as saying “it is 100% safe when you don’t undock”. Or better yet, “you can’t lose your ship if you are not logged in”.
At this point, if you can’t understand that a game where you LOSE when you play is not fun, is not interesting, and should never be considered as a good gameplay choice ; sorry but I can’t do anything for you.

Ok, you don’t listen, i’m talking about my case, not yours. I don’t take contracts, i only haul my stuff on my terms. If you can’t wait days it’s your problem not mine, and i’m talking about JUMP freighters, not freighters. 100% safety is possible in certain conditions, that’s not a lie, you need time and patience. And WTF do you want to do for me? Did i asked you something? Maybe your corpse for a sacrifice to Bob…
