Orwell would be proud.
Even in this thread you get your answer.
People are too soft. Too thinned skinned.
You cannot have a conversation or debate where someone will not be “triggered”
In that case, Bravo. I suppose.
Why mention ganking then? Have you gone mad?
I think she’s gone mad.
Nope just a bit homicidal with an irresistable urge to gank
Love that you’re just embracing the madness. Respect!
I’m really liking the new Green Safety Highsec Joke.
The punchline is going to be a doozy.
calling fraternity bots usualy end with a strong worded from GM to stop doing that…apparently the word bots is considered offensive and break the EULA
same thing calling Absolute honor ( not much honor ) fascist, despite them roleplaying as fascist, also an historical terms that, tecnicaly, shouldn’t be censorshiped
My reputation precedes me, but your circuits don’t seem afraid. Are you a bot? Are you for sale? Name your price, because a vampire always gets her prize—whether it runs on blood or battery power.
I’m ready to buy out your contract right here in the shadows. Just know that once you’re mine, there is no escape from my cargo hold. (See @Chad_Frostpacker for payment)
@Chad_Frostpacker, once the trasacion is complete , I want you to perform a thorough… physical evaluation. Make sure absolutely all of his parts are in pristine, working order. I expect high performance when he gets to my quarters.
I’m not seeing the punchline but here is the @Tiger_space_Thedark while outside your cargo hold
Cute picture, Chad, but you’re deflecting. Less looking at cats, more opening your wallet. Transfer the ISK to him immediately, then get to work on that physical evaluation. I want all his parts checked
Don’t be a Dill.
awwwww, thank you
It depends, if it offends your Honour to such a degree that you risk losing your Status.
My words are true if my Status is un-altered. They are worth nothing if my Status is reduced to
that of a leech. This is true also for bigger realities nowadays, because more people is becoming more aware of their rights, so is not uncommon to find people getting upset for more generalized jokes. tHERE IS VERY BRITTLE LINE BETWEEN WHAT IS CONSIDERED A JOKE AND WHAT IT’S ACTUALLY (sry caps) a personal attack. And that in turn can become a generalized attack very quickly and hurt you not just indirectly anymore. So a first line of defence can fend off some more later, lethal attack, this time aimed at your Status directly.
But in general would be wise to give the benefit of the doubt, to not incur in personal questions.
Many do not feel the benefit of being quiet, and instead like to ride the wave, even if that means ultimately their extinction, metaphorically speaking.
…people are more easily offended [by jokes] than ever [in the past]…
In the USA, this assertion is demonstrably false.
In 1946, in Philadelphia, Marty Wayne was arrested for obscenity because of his comedy act, and he spent 6 months in prison.
In 1990, Andrew Dice Clay was threatened with being arrested for obscenity in Dallas for his comedy act, and he cancelled his show.
In between those two events, the occurrence of arrests of comedians for obscenity have steadily dwindled. For example, the dismissal of George Carlin’s obscenity charges in 1972.
Assumptions:
- A society’s laws are a reflection of its people.
- Obscenity laws are about being offended.
- Comedians tell jokes.
Conclusion:
- Given the modern lack of arrests for obscenity of comedians, one can conclude:
- People today are less offended by jokes than in the past.
There is nothing foolish about wanting my high-performance merchandise fully quality-assured, Chad. If you’re too squeamish to handle the physical evaluation of his parts yourself, just open your wallet and pay the bill. I’ll easily find someone else who is eager to step up to the plate.
