Look… CCP… Regardless of what your intentions were, regardless of all the safety measures… This is a really, really,… and I mean really bad idea. If traditional media sniffs this, they will be like sharks sensing blood in the water (pun intended).
And if this gets trending on TikTok, I cannot even imagine the hell that will break loose. I’m talking about justice department inquiries of several governments about who started the trend.
What Icelandic laws are they breaking? Everything is voluntary and is just a single drop of blood donated. What are you all doing trying to limit what others do?
They are descended from Vikings…but it’s not bent and broken, maybe a little twisted, but it’s harmless fun.
It sounds ok to me as well, but that’s because I consider myself to be a rational human being that can see and understand the real intention. The same could not be said about media, both traditional and social. I’m just saying that this could backfire badly.
Doesn’t matter who they’re descended from, the very idea of it is not exactly socially acceptable or normal for this time period, especially due to recent biological concerns and health threats… That’s why I said the whole premise of it is bent, broken and twisted…
Anyway, I just simply posted my opinion of it… Now if you’re all into that kind of thing then go for it… Don’t try to defend it to me or change my view about it…
Well, they better have their medical standards up to date. When you go breaking the skin and drawing blood you better make sure you have a medical professional on the site who performs this blood drawing. If you don’t follow basic standards of hygiene, you’re screwed.
This seems to be like some form of ‘‘blood brotherhood’’ when close ties between men were ‘‘sealed’’ with blood. And I like some of my fellow EVE players, but I don’t want my blood mixed with theirs. That is something I reserve for much much more intimate ties and involving some other bodily fluids.
Did you read the article, they explained this all. There will be experts there, and the blood is being mixed with ink, not going into anyone’s body. I would be surprised if the blood will be more than 1% of the ink vial(s) as they are only taking a drop. (And is totally fine if Fanfest goers don’t want to participate).
I did, but apparently I skipped that one sentence somehow. i was screening over the text looking for words ‘clinical’, ‘medical’, and other such keywords and only found ‘‘the project is non-clinical’’. But I saw that sentence now. Good then. Never a bad idea to stress the hygiene aspect of the thing over again.
let’s face it is spellcraft; manifestation magic to preserve a soulless entity with the gifts given freely of the living “fun” and “harmless” may be debatable.
I would like to see EVE ( Evocatio, Virtus, Eternitas) last
fundamentalist faiths may find this form of intention grounding uncomfortable
banks channel your life force in a similar manner all the time, why so squeamish about this?
Like I said, I’m not concerned about the intentions, safety measures or the procedure. I’m concerned about how it can be represented and what it can evolve to.
You are free to believe that, but not everyone follows your belief systems. This isn’t forcing anyone to do anything. If I could go to Fanfest, I would totally donate a drop of my blood, and then go and donate to the blood drives that normally happens.
