Wow nice. Ah yeah we know it is so sad that PIRAT CEO being caught recently should sit banned for 30 days. Don’t worry, PIRAT CEO, CCP hurry to cut this period to the scale of 10 (Ten Carl!).
That is trully CCP - not the thing they want to be on their liar blogs.
I rather like the one-strike rule. You got one chance to repent.

You have to consider people falsely reporting others for botting. The one strike rule allows CCP to make a single mistake in wrongly banning someone for suspicious behaviour. If they are a botter, they have just been served notice.
If they aren’t they get the pass (with a few days off) and maybe an apology of sorts.
It is the compromise I think many people can live with. And its much better than the previous policy so progress has been made in the rules.

In the official thread there was a discussion about freezing accounts for transfers, and even freezing SP extraction during a ban. There are some good ideas coming …

i dont think ccp ban based on a report alone
pretty sure they have ways to identify botting by checking logs and stuff
Yes but now they could freeze you for a few days while they investigate (and you can’t transfer all your assets and extract SP). Bans can come easier this way.
The risk is not the account, it is the cumulative wealth.
so you get a 3 day ban and a warning
you come back
extract sp
transfer assets to new account with new ip
inject sp
start botting again and wait for your next 3 day ban to repeat the process
3 day ban doesnt seem like a warning or a chance to me
seems more like a license to bot freely
Read the official thread. The discussion is about permanent ban on sp extraction and char transfers.
okay so they cant extract sp thats one thing
but doesnt stop them transferring assets and injecting sp on a new account

Attention to this issue is good. It is driving changes to happen.
Discussions and exposure work against botting, just like turning the light on cockroaches.

The 3 day ban is for those doing lesser things.
For more major infractions it’s straight to a permanent ban.

This would be incorrect. It may be something of personal value to the players,but no CCP doesn’t have to.
It is not your right as you suggest.
Its is not your entitlement due per the agreement. It is a problem and generally all agree. Inform yourself.
Stating opinions as absolute facts won’t produce the desired response.
