@isd_bahamut I think it’s because it’s awesomeness dazzles the system keeping track. Even the forum software wants captains quarters back so it has a place to relax after a long day of listening to us hash stuff out, go on wild rants, and hurtle mindlessly into the oblivion of off topicisim.
Captains quarters had so much potential it’s simply unkillable.
Back in 2017 when these forums were still being tested (and I think a little while after that) threads didn’t autolock after 3 months, that was added later, and obviously doesn’t seem to be retroactive on threads created before the implementation.

I miss Captain’s Quarters…I remember the plans to have a war room and bar for players to catch up

When I was really new I didn’t know it it had been removed so I spent a lot of time trying to find it. I had seen pictures and video of it and for a while it was just another chunk of stuff falling on me from above as I tried to climb the learning cliff.
When I found out it was gone I cracked up at how much time I had spent looking for something that didn’t exist.
Personally I would love for it to come back, so tell the boss that if it does I will buy all sorts of decorations… Oh, and since I’m Minmatar I will be needing things like rust enhancers and wire brushes.

I took a break from the game and came back a while later and it was gone and it was like the John Travolta moment from Pulp Fiction where I am standing there looking for it.
I understand their reasons to remove it though.

I too miss CQ. It warmed my cold black heart to have a place to admire stuff.
I really do miss CQ. It was such a lovely, chilled aspect of the game, and one that really reinforced the aspect that you are your character, not whichever ship your flying.
I know it’s doubtful, but I hold on to that sliver of hope that something like it will come back.
Perhaps…but I strongly suspect not in EvE proper…maybe in echoes… I think PA wants to tap into the growing smartphone market more than majorly update an older game. #opinion

That statement just sent a shiver of dread down my spine.
I tried echos and hated it I think three times, maybe four now on different hardware ranging from a friend’s phone to various sizes tablets. It looked good on all of them and ran smooth as glass but everything about how I had to interact with it was beyond anything I’m willing to tolerate.
If that’s the direction things are heading it’s really gonna suck.
I miss CQ’s. If only CCP would’ve invested more effort in this and promised planetary flights instead of dust, valkyrie etc. all other useless stuff… Then it could’ve collected all the shineys Star Citizen have by now and Hilmar’s dream might came true ;p
