From all your posts it seems they’ll hardly burn. They seem to have created a hell you are burning in.
CCP is like in constant developers hell already. I am not talking really about WiS. 15 years of players financing them and they still cant place a button where it belongs in a planetary interaction window.
Actually CCP is burning in their own hell, the hell of lost subscriptions.
CCP is working on their vision of EVE as spreadsheets in space. There is no space for faces, only numbers. There is only space for the pleasing numbness of numbers, much cheaper.
Get your needy humanity away from CCP. Ain’t no need for pixel hungry artsy fartsy pictures here.
Next to go. Character creation.
Then character names.
EVE shall become a game of pod people and corporate clones. I applaud CCP’s vision.
Get yourself a number, and be happy you get that.
Now go have fun getting podded.
Hir Miriel, think this thru, do you know what happens when you give people numbers and call them by number?
If Hir Miriel would become number 56193615 or something like that, there would be no Hir Miriel, no human, just a meaningless bunch of numbers. Add to that no avatar and you are just a nobody. I think you should and will object to that, expressing your Individualism.
How do you know? What are the subscription numbers?
Well, humans are so bad at remembering numbers that we would give them nicknames to remember who they are…
Don’t care about subscription numbers.
The actual question is how many Alpha accounts are active because each one equates into a lost subscription.
I see a lot of things like CCP is greedy, CCP failed, etc etc about the walking in stations. People tend to forget there is 99% of the game outside of the station where 97% of the people are playing with the ships that this game is centered around.
You keep complaining about how wardecs are broken. Go out and practice pvp. Git gud and shoot back. Go make money hire protection. Recruit and wardec somebody.
The interaction of people in ships is the point of the game. Not hanging in a tavern like wow.
There would have been a lot more player interaction with WiS if CCP had added some game content to it. Instead CCP decided to abandon it and then use the lack of player participation along with some technical BS as an excuse to completely remove it from the game.
The interaction of people is the point of the game.
FTFY.
People dont have to fly spaceships to interact very well.
No, they want people to focus more on the ships. Plus it opens up server resources and puts less drag on players hardware.
The base line of Eve is people flying ships with people. Not sitting in a station playing a rng minigame.
The base line of Eve is people interacting with people
FTTFY.
I spent eight years in the US Army and tried quiting acronyms back then. If you think Eve has problems with acronyms, all militaries have three different meanings for each acronym and they use acronyms that take longer to say rather than saying it all out.
MMORPG
Plus it opens up server resources and puts less drag on players hardware.
The same can be said about removing a lot of the useless eye-candy graphics in the game. That would definitely open up more server resources as well as reduce player hardware requirements.
With a reduced server load itll help with TiDi a bit and allow them to fix all these other issues people are complaining about.
Never have seen them talking about how it would help with TiDi. Just like I have never seen them talking about what advantages would be with 64 bit client.
Throw us a bone CCP, if you have it. Maybe not much flesh on that bone, but I think people would catch it.
Can WiS be closer than anyone is thinking?
The actual question is how many Alpha accounts are active because each one equates into a lost subscription.
Alternatively, each equates to an opportunity for additional income, since they might not be active at all otherwise.
Subscription isn’t the only opportunity for people to support the game financially.
Captain’s Quarters was only here b/c CCP was developing a World of Darkness MMO and they needed a test bed for the animation and mechanics. And as soon as they gave up on that project, they stopped doing anything with CQ. I’m surprised it stayed around as long as it did.
Everybody knows our Eve “characters” are the ships we fly. The “pilots” inside are only an excuse for the ship operating skills.
