CCP and the Driffters

Problem is you get a warning when Trigs invade a system, in Null we have no clue where the drifters are until they attack and that usually starts with your ship getting insta popped!

So let’s just add it to the Agency window. Problem solved!

Then they’ll complain about how the agency window is tipping off non-blued opportunists to attack vulnerable structures due to drifters doing most of the reinforcing for them. The only thing this event has done is expose just how feminine these NS alliances are it’s disgusting and embarrassing.

CCP likes the ninja drifters because it’s different from all the other invasions so they won’t change a thing, they like the fact that drifters are so OP that people are unsubbing from the game! myself included very soon because I can’t do anything in Null except defend structures

as the adage goes, adapt or die

if you have too many structures that all you’re doing is non-stop defense, maybe you shouldn’t have that many structures. less structures in space means less of them getting attacked, and less scrambling around to save them.

That would be fine if Drifters stuck to structures, but they don’t. They shut down ANY activity, completely. You can not “pay attention” and live, because there’s no way to know they’re around. When they appear on your overview and you’re not in a super, you’re already dead.

That’s why he said all he can do is defend structures: He cannot do anything else, or he’d die. Has nothing to do with the number of structures. Quite the opposite: With more structures, Drifters would spend more time shooting them, and the odds of them popping your ship in an anomaly or belt or at a gate go down.

So basically like pre-invasion incursion occupied HS? Or literally how FOBs operate to this day. Or maybe something similar to what the trigs have introduced?

NS is literally whining about 1 week of ■■■■ that has been happening in empire for years. The best part is they’ve got cynos and capitals while HS has battleships and luck LMFAO clownpilled

Then… haven’t you found the answer? Raitarus and Astras are super cheap. Spam more of them and waste the drifters time?.. what seems to be the problem here?

No. If 3er gangs of pirates with 1500 dps each and instalock warped into your mission pocket, that would be the equivalent.

You seem to think that we’re only dealing with normal rats here. These are so overpowered that you only survive them in a super.

Sounds like you’ve solved your own problem then. I’ve seen 30 supers respond to a booshing SB fleet. You’re telling me you can’t get only 4 to clean up a system? Y’all are actually just crying because you can’t fly around autistic doctrine fitted ships or your afk vnis like monkeys anymore it’s gold content.

Not everyone living in null is flying supers. They’re not fun ships, and I never believed that anything bigger than Dread and Carrier should even exist in this game. CCP produced power creep, and now we’re living in a world where 20 people in BSs are a joke, and not a gang to be taken seriously anymore.

To point out a weak point in your argument: You can’t bring x people in supers and “clean up the systems”. They don’t appear on D-scan, so you can’t hunt them down. They spawn, do some ■■■■, then disappear. No way to do anything against them.

Kashara, Mega_Face is just a troll, one look at his KB and you’ll see why you should just ignore him since he doesn’t have a clue about Null

Add scooter to that list…

I don’t think anyone complaining about NPCs ruining their gaming experience has any right to use the “lol zkilboard noob” approach. If you can’t kill NPCs then you may as well just leave the game miner.

Honestly CCP did a nice job of pissing off more miners. I like drifters for the botters but the rest that are getting ganked I see mining being a thing of the past and may push many miners finally over the edge. Miners are always prime targets of interest and usually easy prey. Now ccp decided to add yet drifters to the mix. Same for mission runners. They are usually preyed upon as in many cases their ship is not fit for pvp but instead pve. I see mission runners loosing very expensive stuff and calling it. Guessing CCP will loose players over drifters. Frankly I have been thinking of calling it quits to eve since drifters came around. shut all 7 accounts down. When I leave I leave for good. Same thing I did for WOW. Things got very bad and I will not go back.

Listen I can honestly sympathize with how futile the latest drifter menace feels, but I don’t believe for a second that it’s as one-sided as they’re making it seem. Yes, they’re broken NPCs spontaneously willing themselves into existence wherever they please. Yes, they do obscene amounts of DPS that may appear as if the only thing capable of withstanding their alpha are capitals. Yes, they can point you from across the universe.

I understand all of these points quite well. What NS isn’t seeming to understand is that there are other ships in the game that aren’t T1 paper-fit doctrine or AFK ratters. NS pilots want to min-max everything. Use the least amount of effort to maximize the most out of every situation. So that’s why Drifters are essentially godlike to you guys, because at most you’ve got a 10k EHP tank on your alpha thrasher. Or overfit ABs on your vexors wondering why nothing seems to be working.

I promise you chaining marauders would ez face roll drifters. But wait, that would mean investing in actual ships with actual fits for an actual defense. It’s all hyperbole from cheap NS pilots that have no right to be in NS in the first place.

I see the zkillboard, I see what FCs are telling their members to field. It’s understandable, nobody wants to be that knob losing a billion dollar ship and fit to drifters. But y’all are farming ISK hand over fist out there, and CCP realizes it. That’s why they’ve called down judgement. That’s why NS is being smited from on high. That’s exactly why hells legion has been unleashed.

Trying to organize a defense fleet against drifters in poorly fitted ships should result in the same scenario as trying to do FOBs in mallers. You look dumb, you look silly, and if you want to earn your keep then you need to nutt up, grow a beard and get into some real ships.

Same for anyone.
There is nothing wrong with min-max.
Just like someone who do high-sec level 4 mission will not bling their ship, because that will attract gankers.
Just like people who multibox lvl5 abyss as an income source will not bling all his Hawks because there is a chance of losing them.
Null sec player has the right to use the cheapest fit available. There is nothing wrong.

To be honest the rewards for null sec AFK VNI is not as high as many other PVE. It is so popular just for the AFK part (and probably for the low skill point needed). Invest a 3b marauder for that profit and risk losing it to PVP player is not a wise decision, and by the way marauders are not going to out perform carriers

This is exactly my point. You don’t want to spend isk to defend your isk faucet, you just want to grow fat and bloated from it without a care in the world. NS is awash with fields of ISK, dozens of havens to farm per system, purple modules to loot and pirate LP to seize.

When you agreed to these benefits you also agreed to the disadvantages of living in NS. The constant looming threat of hostile players, roaming gangs, hot drops, evictions, weeks of occupying forces shutting down your revenue and spies compromising your securities.

Except, that never happened. Except, what players did instead was found out that “hey, we could just blue up and everyone can get rich all damn day”. When players found out that instead of spending 10 hours making no isk putting structures into timers, they could just click a standing button and turn whole regions into farm status.

The Drifters are a lot of things, but it’s blatantly obvious that this is an intervention sponsored by CCP. This is a wake-up call from the Devs, this is an attempt at reintroducing equilibrium to equation.
