Typical false dilemma created by carebears.
The reality is that EVE is an ecosystem in which all parts are essential. But miners need to grasp that they are the wildebeest on the plains and not the apex of the food chain. That is why there are more miners than gankers or PvPers…just as there are more wildebeest than lions.
In EVE…like in any other ecosystem…you are either predator or you are prey. But unlike every other ecosystem you get to choose which one !
LOL! Show me the stats where no one runs Abyss or anomolies or rats… Show me the stats that prove all of that is dead content. You’re doing nothing but gas lighting like you always do. You’ve never made an honest statement on these forums once have you?
People rat and mine in wormholes. People do the same in null. PvE happens all over this game. In fact, null sec players run Ishtar bots 24/7 as well as mine and other crap just to afford the wars they do. Remove all of that and this game dies.
Uh uh…actually you’re the one doing your usual dishonest tactic of totally failing to respond to what was actually said. I’m surprised you need a 800K EHP freighter to carry all those straw men.
PvP is not essential. It’s simply another way to play this game. PvE is essential because it fuels not only PvP, but also more forms of PvE. There are no predator vs. prey because a great portion of those who do PvP, also do PvE. You not wanting to accept that is not anyone’s problem but your own.
Nah…you simply haven’t the faintest idea what you are talking about.
Plus there really is no hard and fast distinction between PvP and PvE. I could regard someone mining ‘my’ asteroid belt as a personal challenge…for example.
But the biggest clue is in the word ‘multiplayer’. If you have thousands of players all competing for different things then that is, by definition, player versus player.
Thank you for proving my point. PvE drives the game. PvP simply happens.
Ah,…the classic ’ everything you say proves my point’ fallacy.
Well, you have now just triggered the ‘three logical fallacies and you’re out’ mechanism. So I declare myself the winner.
Acually not quite true.
IF we take the real world for example, PvP is used to gain access to PVE resources
ANd here we go, a template for you when you start playing Star Citizen
You said exactly what i did while calling me wrong and denying what you wrote. Seriously what is wrong with you?
In what way?
How is it necessary?
You need ore to build stuff. Without ore, you can’t build. You need gas, planetary industry- hell for that matter, INDUSTRY itself.
You need ways to make money to afford to build and buy. You can’t just spend money you don’t have. Ishtars bot 24/7 and miners mine non-stop to fill the pockets of the tax collectors.
No you don’t.
There are free ships available.
No ore needed to play EvE Online.
I’m one of the greatest players in the history of EvE Online, and I’ve never ever ever needed ore for any reason whatsoever.
In fact, I’ve never built a ship.
You think people will Omega for Corvettes? LOL You think people will sub and PLEX for free civilian mods? Only Gloria flies civilian mods!
Oh, so you want EvE to be pay to win?
Can’t handle a fair PvP game?
I never said that. But CCP likes to make money. they’re not here to give this ■■■■ to us for free.
Ok, but you said PvE is NECESSARY.
It’s not. So… try again!

Ok, but corvettes still exist.
As do FREE frigates and destroyers.
So at every level, everything you say, is technically wrong. Technically, PvE isn’t necessary, not even to create ships. Furthermore, corvettes are not the only free ship - and furthermore, some people actually do PvP in corvettes! So please, try to think before you write.
