In the end itās not their fault. Itās politicians and media who created this situation. On the other hand, if they simply decided to lock out the US market, which is the root cause of all this ā ā ā ā , the situation might be quite different. Itās not just the mining by the looks of it. As pure wormhole player, all I do is map, hack, rat and kill. After the recent wormhole update, I have noticed a massive drop in the faction relic spawns. Iāll barely come across more than a few for the entire day now. I have seen a massive increase in the wormhole spawns themselves. At first, I assumed that the extra connectivity meant that players were grabbing them but I have not seen an increase in wh traffic.
Itās early days ofc and it could just be bad luck on my part but I suspect it is a real nerf. I can see why theyāve done it (if they have) as you can Omega your account just by running a few sites every day and thereās not that many players paying for their Omega with real money. The problem is that it not only takes away content that new players can enjoy, it takes away wh PvP opportunities and especially for solo players like myself.
Yet a person purchasing game time with PLEX purchased through gameplay is actually better for CCPās bottom line when the PLEX is consumed. People buy PLEX from CCP and sell it to those with isk to spare.
30 days game time via sub is Ā£9.99
30 days game time via PLEX is Ā£16.99
TL;DR In real money terms PLEX has a circa 70% markup over the cost of a sub.

The person consuming the PLEX does absolutely nothing for CCPs bottom line. It is the person purchasing the PLEX to get ISK that is opening the wallet and giving CCP money and they are not connected to the consumer in any way.
CCP loses nothing when the farmers stop leeching PLEX from the market. In fact the āworstā thing that could happen is that PLEX gets cheaper because of less demand and that doesnāt necessarily translate to less PLEX sales for CCP.

Numbers wise youāre correct although this is irrelevant when you can Omega the account simply by running 1/2/3 sites a day. The in=game grind in exchange for PLEX only works if enough people are exchanging real money for PLEX and I am not sure what their numbers are on that?

Bad phrasing on my part, the PLEX purchase is better for the bottom line, the consumer of said PLEX merely changes that PLEX from deferred income to actual income in CCPās accounts; unredeemed PLEX being a liability in that itās essentially money received for a service not yet delivered, much like gift cards.
