While all the recent changes have been in my favor, I feel they are ill conceived. There seem to be better ideas out there for a more balanced game. Pulling the rug out from your player base is no way to run a game. The numbers never came back from 2012.
Er ekki allt í lagi heima hjá þér with Himlar and Falcon?
Or perhaps CCP is making PVE suck more and more, hoping that pvp people will just say screw it, buy plex and avoid PVE and leave it to the PVE pros who like that part of the game.
Well, I do honestly believe that is part of the CCP ‘how we make money’ vision: they think players will PvP ‘for fun’, then turn around and pay cash for Plex to convert to ISK to fund their playing.
And I’m sure there are even a noticeable number of players who do that. It’s about as close as EVE comes to the idea of ‘gold ammo’ or ‘combat consumables’ that other games use - paying cash to enable your PvP.
But given the MMO design of EVE, and the other options in the gaming market today, and the fact that PvP simply isn’t all that available or even interesting in EVE… I believe they need to develop other and better options.
There is no limit to the amount. The problem is you and others here are assiging this concept of “sandboxes have no rules” and that is simply not the case.
to put it metaphorically, we (as developers / designers) draw a circle and say you can do anything you want here, but dont cross this line (rule).
You can suicide gank in high sec, but the rule is, if you do, you die to.
You can conquer what you want in null, but the rule is, if you do you have to defend it.
You can declare war on whom ever you can, but you have to follow the rules and meet the requirements.
etc etc etc.
Eve is liter’d with rules. That does not change it from being a sandbox.
This leaves us with one of two options.
You are resistant to change because its stopping your abuse /exploitation.
You have not put much thought into this, and really stop and recognized the rule sets on the game ; probably because you did not need to in the past as you attuned yourself to the games rule sets.
This is likely because of the abuse in the game. Imagine never being able to leave town in wow, because pvpers can instant kill you. How long do you think the people will stay?
You are able…players who choose to be victims and make themselves unable are the ones hindering themselves.
The proof of this are the many players who have adapted to how EvE works over the last 16+ years.
However, based on things you’ve said previously it seems unlikely you will see this now.
