The essential core concept of EVE Online is that it is full time PvP in a sandbox
environment.

About point 3, what do you think that would do the people who would rather not play than become free PvP kills?

Hint: they stop playing unless they figure that they can avoid the wardec by moving to a NPC corp. Oh, but then they will be targetted by every l33t pee-vee-peer hunting for noobs and easy targets.

Meanwhil thanks to point 2, Marmite Franchises #3456, 3457, 3458 and 3459 will wardec Noob Corp just for the lulz, since Noob Corp is 20 souls strong and Marmite franchises are 2 men strong each, making it cheaper for them to wardec the “larger” Noob Corp.

You know, there is this water and CCP haves a problem with it: some horses fukking refuse to drink it. What makes you think that surrounding the horses with water will make them dirnk rather than flee for less hostile environments?

If the only way to not PvP in EVE is to not play, then that’s exactly what those players will do. And neither EVE nor CCP are in a position to lose any more players.

A PvP game where 99% of the time 99% of the players are not PvPing at all.

PvP is a potential, but what actually goes on it’s a fuckton of PvE and loitering.

It’s like saying that human beings are a murderous bunch. Murder happens, but the reason why there’s a mankind at all it’s because murder is a extremely rare occurrence.

The balance between Ying and Yang is essential to why EVE has lasted so much. Adding a lot more PvP would tilt the game off balance.

This btw already has been going on since CCP decided to focus on multiplayer PvP in nullsec as their target audience: CCP has filled null at the expense of emptying highsec, and the result is a smaller game giving smaller revenue to a smaller company, just by neglecting highseccers. Mess with their game with unavoidable PvP and you’ll have a dead EVE in your hands.

PVP can still be avoided, by and large, if you play smart.

PvP is essential to the nature of EVE and its economy

As I said, there is a balance. Making NPC corps automatically wardecced would kill that balance and the game with it.

It’s not about “how to avoid the new PvP galore”. It’s about “nobody is gonna want to play the new PvP galore”.

The horses won’t drink the water. Period.

Youd also have to be in a diametrically opposed NPC Corp to legally engage

Iirc, there are 24 NPC/Starter Corps.

You’re still removing the abbility to play without becoming a free kill. Drop wardecced corp, be chased by enemy alts in the opposing corp still is trying to force the horse to drink water. It won’t wokr.

If the simplest way to avoid PvP is to not play, that’s what will happen.

Wardecs are not free, and neither is suicide ganking. Players that join NPC Corp lose player corp options (such as declaring war) so that too has a cost.

Correct.
If you want absolutely no PvP, dont play EVE.

This thing that EvE is a exclusively PVP game is bullsheet… Who decide that is not you is not CCP is the majority of the player base and if the majority don’t want to PVP they will not PVP through any means necessary including not logging in… CCP won’t be able to force that, they can write all the facts they want about the game and their designs choices, the last word is always from the player base, not even EA and Blizzard can afford to defy the will of they player base you think tiny CCP will? If there is more people in the game today that likes to be left alone they WILL be left alone and you can cry all you want about it and nothing will change… As I always say to whom is bothered with the way some games are going: “You can just leave…”

And majority leave Eve, and now ccp is in big financial problems …

Back in the days when we called them “video games” and where we only could play one at a time, did we still manage to compete with each other using not more than the high-score and by filling it with three letters.

It’s because of games such as Doom, where we could shoot each other directly in a match over the local network, that we only consider this now as the new PvP. It’s when we can take direct influence of another player’s actions through our own that we speak of PvP (including player killing).

The meaning of PvP - as in Player versus Player - doesn’t imply if the fight between players happens in a direct way or indirect way or if player killing is allowed. But because its nowadays implied did the definition of PvE gain more weight, and further led to the definition of “competitive PvE”. The later is so close to PvP that one could say “competitive PvE” is “PvP without player killing”.

To the topic, as long as one can kill players in high-sec, or only bump their ship off course, is PvP still alive.

Its not an exclusively PvP game, but all PvE activities float on a PvP landscape.

Even in the old-school PvP games where one comes out of a spawn point, fights for 1-2 minutes and dies, does one often need to pick up weapons, armor, ammo and med-paks along the way. Nobody however has ever called these games a “PvP game with PvE elements” or something like that.

For many is it enough to say “It’s a PvP game.” when one can kill another player directly.

Everything else around the fact then is only seen as being part of the PvP game-play. EVE has taken PvP games to another level, where PvP includes many different tasks that one can easily get lost in it and believe one is playing a PvE game.

EVE is unique and diverse, yet it’s very much a PvP game. If one needs to argue about it, whether EVE is a PvP game or a PvE game, only means one hasn’t accepted it as being one of the most advanced PvP games in existence.

To believe EVE wasn’t an exclusive PvP game is like going around in Doom, avoiding all fights, and trying to pick up all med-paks. Which one can certainly do and even enjoy like playing a game of Dodgeball.
