So speculators aren’t going to make as much pretend money as they thought they would?

So speculators aren’t going to make as much pretend money as they thought they would?

That’s possible.
As for the auto-injection, I will still believe my own eyes first and foremost. Once these crates come down in price I will buy one and verify myself if none of my friends have done it first.
To me, Gold, Silver & Gemstones. Things like that in the real world are valuable and worth gathering. Digital stuff not so much. One grid down event or EMP and “muh skins” are gone.
You got a lot of those?
I don’t care about any of that. This EVE stuff, even less. To me, real friends are worth ‘‘collecting’’, so to say. Everything else in this world is dispensable.
This is how speculation works. Why the surprise?
I’m looking at the market, and I don’t think these crate SKINs are auto-injectable. There are way too many that have shown up within less than 24 hours. We didn’t have this many people just sitting on these SKINs all this time when they could have sold them 30-50b a piece or more.
Stratios YC121 has 7 units sold since these crates were seeded, and 11 pcs are on the market where before the crates there were none. These did not just swim up to the surface from patient speculators. Speculators would have sold them long time ago. These are new SKINs.
So, my bet is that these SKINs drop to the hangar. Market keeps tanking. I see no proof for auto-injection theory. That’s my viewpoint right now. I can’t prove it, as I’m not gonna drop 1.8b on one of these crates just to prove my point, but will have to see how it plays out in the coming days.
I can’t help but look at this from the perspective of Blizzard announcing individual microtransactions for each chair or candle you want to place in your long anticipated player house.
Yeah these skins shouldn’t be dropping from a randomised crate, I despise that mechanic, but reintroducing them to the market is fine, especially since we now have SKINR and can just make even better-looking custom skins. It’s not like when they were going to give SOMER Blink a bunch of Gold Magnates, it’s just some random skins that don’t even look that nice to begin with.
i agree its a cool idea for new players to make old skin viable…..
how ever from my perspective as older player u want to care bout ur items and eventualy start collecting stuff to keep.
but as ccp now introduce gamble boxes that allow to drop any% rare item the collection of apparels and skins or other rare items have no more meaning in eve. i sold 90% of my skins last night becus i not see how to keep or care bout these items would make any sense no more.
see its like running a museum for art or something…..u have something incredible rare and now peoply just multiply it so nobody ever wants to come to see ur rare items xdd thats at least how i see it im not mad at this move as alot games do it like this
and for me its the time now to let go on all of my apparels and skins and look forwart to just play the game
Well, you don’t have to spend 1.8 bil ISK for an SOE Loot Box from the Market… I bought 2 Mastery packs from the Eve Store:
Level 1 Mastery = $10
15 Days Omega
Genius ‘Boost’ Cerebral Accelerator = +12 Attributes
Historic SOE Skin Crate
Level 2 Mastery = $20
30 Days Omega
100 PLEX
250,000 SP
Genius ‘Boost’ Cerebral Accelerator = +12 Attributes
Historic SOE Skin Crate
The top row of items in the Redeem Window are from those two packs…
So yeah, the skins can be sold on the Market, traded in station or placed in Public Contracts…
The two skins I got were:
Nestor Sanctuary Skin
Nestor Yoiul Festival YC121 Skin
OP kinda ruined their own collection by hyping the skins as super rare — now more people will chase them ![]()
No.
It was the Industrial Career Pack 2024.
Thanks for this info.
I knew it. The market reflected this. This is why I don’t believe third parties claiming x, y, z, when the reality shows something different.
Congrats on getting the Nestor YC121 SKIN. Don’t know if you had it already before, but that’s a nice drop.
No, these SKINs were known to be super rare for quite some time. They were last seen in 2019. There were several people asking me if I had these in stock (I do a lot of trading in the game) over the years. So there was already high demand. The first SKINs that got pulled out of these new crates were dropped straight to buy orders that were around 6-9b in value.
My prediction is, with this 5-day window sale period, they will now tank to around 1-2b value for the time being.
But I agree with another poster up there somewhere, that SKINr trade allows one to produce sufficiently similar SKINs for oneself. So, personally, I don’t see the value in these anymore. But some people are collectors. That’s the only value that will be left to them now – to have an item in your hangar which won’t be obtainable anymore (until CCP re-releases them again).
My guess is CCP are counting on this. I don’t think any of the classic SKINs will ever see a rerelease (that isn’t gambling), rather they’ll offer more $80+ packs of SKINr elements and let the players figure out how to recreate them (spending more Plex in the process).
No problem, always best to have factual info…
Obviously first hand experience is the only way to know for sure which is why I bought the packs…
Thanks for congratulating me on getting the Nestor Yoiul Festival YC121 Skin, I was actually surprised I got that skin since the bulk of our convo was about the YC121 skins, not to mention the extra surprise of getting 2 Nestor skins…
I don’t think I have either of those skins, not even sure I have a Nestor ship since I mostly pilot Minmatar with some SoCT, Ore and Angel ships… I’ll definitely have to check on that…
Gotta say I’m seriously thinking about selling those skins, should be able to easily make 6 bill ISK…
If I were you, if I wanted to sell, I would do it now. I believe these (YC121) will tank in prices even more. They might go back up to 10b level at some point in the future, but you might have to wait 3-5 years, and hope CCP won’t release new stock again.
Yep, everything from skins to boosters to anything, really.. CCP killed all of those markets and made what was once rare, oversaturated and just given to everybody. NOTHING should be bind to account in Eve Online or have an expiration date.
The Eve I played my first 5 years would spit in the face of today’s Eve Online.
as long as i can get my grubby mits on the paladin version..
They have thrown all the known monetezation models at EVE, the only one that remains is a one time purchase that gives life time access.
However mixing monetezation models is likely going to backfire if it hasnt already.
This 100%…
Including ‘Auto-Activation’…
