CCP should release normal version of "Tiamat" and "Hydra"

From what i see the Trigs are the only non-core faction (core player race faction) to have T1 and T2 ships.

Even on day one you had the T1 frigate, cruiser and battleship like the early days of eve.
Later the T1 logi and T2 logi were added.
Later on the destroyer and battle cruiser were added to complete the subcap ship tree.
The T2 assault frigate, T2 command destroyer and T2 heavy assault cruiser were added end of last year followed very closely by the Dreadnought.

As for the Hydra (special limited edition covert ops) and Tiamat (special limited edition recon), this are one off items like many other limited release ships, they don’t show in the Trig ship tree, as though they are T2 ships now.

The lore lists them as experimental craft with limited blueprints.

If you compare with the Pacifier, Chameleon, and Enforcer they are the only other special edition of these ships listed as T2, all other are Faction ships *(Cadaes, Chremoas, Virtuoso, Moracha and Victor.
But all these ships require special requirement to get BPC’s to make them.

When you compare these to the 8 Covert Op and 8 Recon core Faction T2 ships, they are miles ahead.

If CCP decide to release T2 recon and covert-op ships all they will have similar is the looks and covert-op cloak, most of the other bonus the Hydra and Tiamat have won’t be there. All you need to do is look at the standard T2 amarr, caldari, gallente and minmatar versions to see what you’re likely to get.

I hope there is a recon and covert-op released, hopefully the same time the command battlecruiser and unknown T2 Leshak is released.

Essentially this.
All AT ships get some hull specific bonus. In the virtuoso, it would be fitting a bomb launcher for free, while in the caedes and chremoas it would be the no targetting delay after decloak. Since the hydra doesn’t get the targetting delay after decloak and instead gets a spoolup bonus, it would be safe to assume that it won’t be on any triglavian recon/covops.

Looking at how recons are compared to their T1 EWAR counterparts, usually there is either no bonus, or only a negligible dps bonus. Same goes for cov ops frigs compared with their exploration frigate counterparts. In essence, any T2 trig covops/recon would have basically mirrored davimak/vedmak stats, with t2 resists but losing the 4% armour resists per level (of the davimak, to balance the vedmak the 5% damage per level would probably reduced to 2.5% per level).

Finally, while recons get a bonus to ewar trig bonuses would only be bonuses to energy neut/nos cap and sb cap. You end up with a T2 davimak/vedmak with a cloak, less tank, less damage, and a better sb/neut/nos cap bonus.

A much better way to have asked this question would likely have been to just ask for a Triglavian CovOps Frigate and Force Recon. Any time you ask for “watered down” versions of AT ships, you’re just asking for trouble…even if you really meant to just ask for normal T2 hulls that they’re based off of.

CCP is slowly releasing T2 Triglavian hulls. They’ll probably get around to CovOps frigates and Force Recons eventually. Just be patient.
