CCP should seriously consider removing Local from Null

Drac, I’d be happy with the original 30 days for fatigue. I also have said all along I want PvE in null to be extremely difficult solo, but realistic for groups. ISK payouts and site difficulty should scale accordingly. That should go hand in hand with changes to local.

See my response to Drac above.

Reading everything I write would help, instead of just the parts you want to complain about.

I think the biggest problem here is that somehow there is an idea that null is “supposed” to be dangerous. Which is no more accurate than saying that HS is “supposed” to be safe.

NS is safe because players have made it safe. LS is more dangerous, because players have made it more dangerous.

You’re the one complaining about everything, and I’m trying to explain to you why your ideas are bad with logic, questions, and examples, and you just complain at my explanations so I guess I’m done with you. You’ll never listen to anyone. DENIAL.

This doesn’t belong in General Discussion.

It’s been moved to player features & ideas.

Also, keep it civil, or the hammer will come out.

Are you kidding? Try to kill Sanshas with a fething PVP-Ship. Good idea. I kill BS with fething RHMLs on my phoon… Even better. I use novas, because PVP.
Or even better. I could use a Scorpion. The normal one without ANY other bonuses than ECM. Of course with RHMLs too. Because PVP. Or tickle them to death with a half useless Baalghorn, because PVP could happen. Not that any of them would stand a fething chance against the usual Tengu and 4+ BLOPS.

Or cruiser? I am sure, the Sanshas wet themselves of my Rook. LOL.

Or I could rat in a Dread. Oh. Wait. Somebody from CVA would start a quite fun conversation, if I would start shooting at fething Sanshas in a fething Phoenix some day down the line.

Sorry, but your point is incredibly weird.

PVP-fits rarely work in PVE in any useful way. And PVP focused ships even less so. You don´t have any use of a point on them, because normally rats don´t run away. At least not in 0.0. Neuts? They don´t bother.
And: If a dread or even better, factiondread shows up. Yeah. You need a crapload of Navyvex to kill that thing.

And for groupratting. How many pals do you need to counter a unknown number of BLOPS plus a Tengu? Well. I think, at that fleetsize, you can as well mine ore in highsec in a Venture, I suppose.

Yeah. If you wanna do PVP like me, you need usually ISK to affort ammo, drones, paste, ships. I ´ve got other ways to get ISK, sure. One of them is the only safe way in game. trading(No need to even undock…) and industry. Or exploration . But blowing up stuff is more fun. Even NPCs.

We have hotdroppers of all kinds. Some of them are VERY good . We have large fleets running wild. But the “Scary Wormholeguys” claim its too save and come with hillarious ideas that would burn whole regions of 0.0, damage the whole game, where they don´t have a clue of, don´t life there. Goonswarm wouldn´t care, because fortress Delve. Most mega-alliances not much too. But everything below that would just die. Most players of them leave. And no, you need no magic crystal ball to see that. Just thinking and calculation is enough for that.
You have NO hotdroppers in w-space. No gates. No supercapfleets, that run wild. W-space is too save!!! Give them all the “fun” of nullsec!
See what I did?

People want safe space, and they want to fight without it having to end in them loosing their safe space. removing local would make null less safe so less people would go there, so less people would play the game. We are already back to the 10 year low we hit last winter, lets not chance anyone else off…

also, removing local gives even more power to big blocks with larger numbers of players. CCP recognized a long time ago that big blocks are not good because they cause stagnation and blob fests. what we need is more small groups and small gang PVP not something else that makes it borderline impossible to go to null without the support of a 1000 person alliance…

All right guys, Wormholer here. In regards to local in NS

No local would make life a living hell for all you hunter killers. You claim local prevents kills? The main thing you all keep forgetting is the sheer size of k space systems, in wormholes its rare to find systems much bigger then 32 au across. So you can quite quickly warp to a few celestials and get decent D-scan coverage.

In K space stuff is far bigger, now these anomalies are everwhere. Getting a Dscan fix on them would take you ages simply for not being able to actually ping of many celestials. Currently with local you jump in a system see if anyone is around. No local means you will have to jump multiple pings in EVERY system to even ascertain if someone is around. You are easily talking 2 -3 minutes a system.

On top of that you have no idea if there even is anyone in a system. It takes me aproximately 30 - 45 seconds to get a fleet on a target in wh space because its small. And if the target is even halfdecent thats allready to slow. Now thats with me jumping in through a known connection. The proper wh hunters roll a static to create a new signature and count on the fact that the target might not notice the new sig pop fast enough. Anyone jumping into a wormhole is spotted and ships are immediately aligned out ( if the weren’t allready ) Chances of catching something in a wormhole are actually not nearly as high as you think.

Overall i think no local would make for terrible gamelpay in nullsec. I know of very few systems that have more then 3 incomming gates and 3 is easy enough to cover. Now no local would mean i’d move to null because it would actually be safer.

Rather then knowing i was there whatever potential hunter came in would have to waste time finding out i was there in the first place, heck I’d probably just park (eject from ship) an unfit rattle or something in a deadspace safe near d of the gates with some wrecks nearby and watch them spend 10 minutes trying to find it while i finished up the site i was actually running on the other side of the system. ( Any good hunter killer does not use combat probes because of D scan ) No intel needed except a few scouts on the gates to listen for gatefire, and as a wormhole player i have plenty of those. (No worries guys they’re all omega’s too we dont lack isk down here so we can still afford to plex out scout alts properly.)

And you all forget the massive beam of light on the gate aswell, wormholes dont show whats being jumped clearly so if you’re watching three at once its quite hectic to catch whatever jumped in. In null it would be increadibly easy, just look for the bright light and you know what client to focus.

Honestly there are many more balancing around local. We may not have cyno’s here in wormholes but drops do still happen. Our danger is incomming wormholes with good hunters. They can be on you in as little as 30 seconds if it spawns in the right place.

You need enough people in a group for someone to hold out long enough and keep them on grid until backup shows up. You talked about cruisers though, you can take out any null site in a T3C. I did my ratting in provi in one of those for a while.

As for CVA yelling at you if you get in a cap without permission, that’s between you and CVA. It’s not relevant here.

He said dread not cap…

remove local from null?
ok but only if you remove power projection via titan/bo bridge and restrict jumping through gates by mass or time.

Its too easy to get pve intel on dotlan and quickly move a decent force to a specific location, far more easy than in anoikis
Just look at the numbers of rorquals or pve caps killed in nullsec vs wormholes

Do you think dreadnaughts aren’t capital ships?

Do you seriously think he was talking about carriers when he said dread?

sorry, what are you talking about? He mentioned a phoenix, neither of us said anything about carriers. you do realize dreads are caps, right?

You should be sorry, because there is a reason why he said dreads and not caps.

Please stop trolling.

You are the one trolling.

He said dread not caps, and there is a very good reason why he said dreads and you said caps to have a dig at him. Provi bloc have changed their policy on carriers in that people can now rat with them, this actually makes sense because before they were using faction BS with so many expensive modules bringing in lots of people eager to loot them, now they can use cheap carriers and do.

He said dread for a reason, and my alliance has exactly the same policy in terms of dreads in terms of killing NPC dreads as Provi does.

I would advise you to stop trolling people like this in the thread to bait them into explaining themselves so you can laugh at them, CCP Falcon has asked people to stop and you should honour that

I said caps because he mentioned a capital ship and you as usual do whatever you can to derail a conversation.

Stop being pedantic and stay on topic.

  1. “No Local makes NS PvE too dangerous.”

-This is compensated by the reciprocal added difficulty for aggressors to ascertain whether there are potential targets in a system from lack of Local. If you leave to LS, as many threaten, then NS hunters will diminish due to lack of targets, making NS safer again. Balance of risk/reward is maintained.

  1. “No Local advantages larger groups over small ones.”

-Larger groups are systemically advantaged anyways. Play harder and smarter and build your own empire, just like they did. Its never going to be an equal fight.

  1. “Cynos become OP without Local”

-Cynos may be OP to begin with. Also, dont forget that you too can drop on someone else. You arent an automatic victim, anymore than anyone else. The rules are the same for everyone. You can wreck their day just as much as they can yours.

PS: I am going to ignore any post including “stupid”, “idiotic” etc. Not because I cant take it, but because if you cant discuss a topic without resorting to ad hominem I dont give a **** what your position is.

He said dread, it is a very specific reason and you are derailing the discussion by changing it to caps in order to bait him into reacting. Stop baiting people!

Jesus kid, are you trying to say what you can to get this thread locked?

You have an issue with me. That’s obvious. Send me a message in game to take anything more out on me. I will talk to you there. I’m more than happy to respond to the topic at hand otherwise.

I apologize for calling a dread a capital ship. I didn’t realize calling a cap a cap was such a big deal.
