They are a 100% efficiënt and effective. They are there as a response to a crime and function as a deterrent; not to prevent a crime. You have to deal with your losses and learn from them. Otherwise EvE is, perhaps, not the game for you.

It wasn’t my loss, but the system seems broken. Ganking is the #2 cause of people leaving the game. 15% to ganking + lower resists doesn’t seem to be the answer.

Wouldn’t it be a gigantic buff to ganking altogether?
I mean since you only need one ship to gank something worth while ganking, the cost of a gank went down by 99.7% and ganking is even worth more since the spoils only has one contender.
This “surgical strike” should be seen as ganking online update - now with more firepower on no tank at all to speak of targets to (un-)even out the increase of firepower.
