CCP sucks all flavour out of mining with 'Veldspar II-Grade"

If that was the goal, they totally missed it. I can create an intuitive and immersive system that any newbro can understand on first glance in less than an hour.

I mean, back in the 2000 when Diablo II released, absolutely nobody had a problem to understand how

  • TYPE: ruby, sapphire, topaz, emerald, diamond, amethyst, skull
  • QUALITY: chipped, flawed, regular, flawless, perfect

worked together. It was absolutely obvious for even total beginners. if now, 25 years later, a designer would present me his idea of “grade I, grade II, grade III…” I would probably beat him out of the office with an old copy of an early Blizzard game.

It’s the opposite of creative.

All these proposed ‘fixes’ are gonna be too complicated for these people. We should just go back to grunting and groaning like our prehistoric ancestors. Who needs language? It’s not like it’s one of the best inventions of man.

ughhh

ccp dug a hole for themselves by making over 100 unique ore names. if they’d standardized on ore name and three upgrade names for all the types it may have been more accepted than grade I, grade II.. don’t really care much, myself. i’m still mad i don’t have to carry 6 different kind of probes and launch 16 au run a scan recall and reload 8 au probes launch and run a scan then recall and load 4 au probes and launch and run a scan i’m so sad they dumb this game down see what i did there ?

I’m really sad now…i never had the chance to mine:

Doped Eifyrium
Firewater Ytirium
Moonshine Ytirium
Inky Griemeer
Serrated Hezorime
Argil Kylixium
Royal Ducinium
Imperial Ducinium
Plunder Mordunium

Nature was really colorful back then. Now it is only dull and gray and uninspiring…

Nothing that cannot be simply undone. It’s a few hours programming effort at best for someone knowing his job to limit the unique ores to like 16 and add 5 different qualities. Which leads to 80 variants that can be balanced in isk/m³ and then spread over all existing mining sites to give them whatever value and mineral output they want.

It’s literally work that could be done by a junior developer.

No I actually don’t, because those two examples have absolutely no connection. A proper naming scheme is immersive and intiuitive, it adds value to the game. What you described is unnessessary and tedious while not offering a signle benefit to the game or it’s players.

I’m thinking of anchoring a few depots named ‘Dense Veldspar’, ‘Massive Scordite’, ‘Iridescent Gneiss’, etc around the Galaxy in protest.

So say we all!

The best one is the one that fits my hand. For example, most 9mm handguns are too large. I can’t easily reach the slide release or the safety. Thus, the best one is the one that fits.

We need bigger rocks. I like big rocks

Why not go a step further and just have colors as names for variations for everything including weapons, that keeps the colorful nature of naming yet also keeps it simple.

 :psyccp:

  :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

:ccpguard:

And you cannot lie?

I’d be very happy if the whole UI was able to be colored. For example- why can’t I change the colors of my chat tabs?

No idea. On that note remember when the Neocom still had colored icons?

:psyccp:

Simply stop overreacting, get adult or go outside for a while….this clears the mind…..THIS whole thread is totally unecessary, stupid and not worth the time of anybody beside 15 year old minded people that cry ‘I DON’T WANT ANYTHING TO CHANGE AT ALL’ in their minds…….

And to the people that want to jump on me for this statement let me say this : you all have to allow opinions even if they contradict your own, that is called the right of free speech…

People are outraging about a couple of changed letters in the ui and you seriously want to do THAT? Good luck :stuck_out_tongue: 316 replies about this babyfart…….You are all childish about that…..

Hello

I agree. Their complaint is ridiculous and childish.

If you two wish to share a real opinion on the topic, why do you do so on anonymous throwaway forum alts?

Do you not wish to be associated to the things you say you stand for?

Caught a veldspar miner, he tasted like chicken

No he didn’t. That’s an error in the simulation. It can’t simulate that many flavors, and it reuses that one more than any others.
